Overall Satisfaction with Cision Communications Cloud

Cision Communications Cloud (TrendKite)* is implemented across client accounts at our agency. We primarily focus on enterprise tech, IT security, and consumer tech clients. We use the tool to track the impact of our strategic communications activities.



*This review was written before Cision acquired TrendKite. TrendKite is now part of Cision Communications Cloud.
  • Excellent for tracking earned media. Have used meltwater in the past for tracking PR results, and it was a nightmare compared to Cision.
  • Great overview of media mentions vs. competitors. Simple to see and analyze.
  • System is simple enough that junior employees can learn and grow on metrics tracking.
  • Filtering out aggregator sites still takes a lot of manual effort. Cision reps are great about jumping into the boolean search to help us cut what we call "junk" mentions, but it would be helpful if this was more automatic. I don't know of a single PR pro that would feel comfortable reporting what are essentially spam sites as coverage.
  • Meltwater
Different beast entirely.
Great for tracking earned media campaigns. Social tracking is weak, but for agencies that do a lof of social media, they likely already have a robust tracking system in place.
