Overall Satisfaction with Cision Communications Cloud

We are using it to do media research on a variety of topic areas for clients. We do searches, generate reports and share those reports on a weekly, monthly or ad hoc basis. It helps us understand who is sharing what across social media and then easily compare that other topics of interest.
  • Sorting by social shares is key to our successful use of TrendKite.
  • Puling out keyword messaging.
  • Comparing topics within one dashboard is very useful.
  • The valuation tool is not helpful and probably misleading.
  • It would be super useful to have a default logo for reporting that is NOT Cision's logo. It is a pain to go in and change that on every single report.
  • If users could choose which info appears in the table of search results, that would prevent a lot of time wasting scrolling.
  • Cision (pre-TrendKite)- couldn't understand the interface.
  • Meltwater- this is what we moved from. It was not well organized, reporting and searching was a disaster and customer service left a lot to be desired.
  • Google News feed- Insufficient data aggregation and reporting.
We use Cision Communications Cloud (TrendKite)* for a specific use on topic searching and it is designed to monitor specific corporate messaging. It is reasonably suited for what we do, but it is hard to capture what is being said over social media with the shares. Relying on it for sentiment is not a good use of the tool.

Transition from TrendKite to Cision Communications Cloud

The CSRs are friendly and helpful. We could have used more support at the beginning of the relationship on how to create reports that are good for external clients versus internal clients. We were told that we could have all the help we needed, however, we work on a weekly deadline with trending topics and after we signed on, we found out that there is a 48hr or so turn around on report creation. In our world, that is an excessively long timeline and caused frustration.

Using Cision Communications Cloud

The interface is easy. The search functioning is easy. It's easy to edit reports and when needed the customer service reps are always around. The Boolean searching isn't always intuitive and the examples in the Boolean pdf don't always port well into the actual searches. But, that said, it's easy to change things if needed.
