Overall Satisfaction with Cision Communications Cloud
Cision Communications Cloud (TrendKite)* is being used by the Communications Department in order to provide monthly reporting on the destination's media presence. It enables the Board of Directors to quickly discern the brand's performance against stated objectives and to compare share of voice against our competitive set on a monthly basis. It provides earned media values so that the community recognizes the cost that would have been expended to achieve the media coverage generated.

- Clear reports make it easy for any reader to recognize performance.
- Story angle tracking enables the organization to track success against very specific campaigns.
- Share of voice tools let the community know how successful the team has been versus main competitors tasked with the same objectives.
- Search functions (for specific articles) are not straightforward.
- Ad equivalency can be better measured - I believe it is currently being overstated and I am having to compensate by hand to deliver what I consider to be accurate results.
- We still have a second tracking system in place because Cision doesn't cover every form of media we require to be reported.
- Positive: Board of Directors better understands the performance of the media relations department
- Negative: The net is so wide and the media values are so high that they have to be hand-calculated to reduce montly values (substantially), taking a lot of time
- Positive: Our first opporutnity to compare our coverage with that of our major competitors
The biggest difference for us using Cision Communications Cloud this year has to do with clear communication of results in straightforward graphs that are easy for non-communications specialists to digest. It also has been a great time-saver for staff members who were previously responsible for reporting these trends manually each month. It is a very slick and sophisticated system.

Using Cision Communications Cloud
2 - Media relations / public relations team is responsible for producing a monthly report of media coverage and Cision (TrendKite)* provides not only a wide, wide net but also charts and data to help us interpret the coverage in a third-party manner so that the team isn't tasked with reporting whether coverage was successful - Cision provides the data to confirm monthly coverage.
1 - It is a very straightforward platform and the team has outstanding customer support when questions arise or special reports are needed. It is always easy to get support from the Cision team and the reports require very little support as they truly speak for themselves and are easy to produce and print out.
- Quantifying media coverage (reactive)
- Providing third-party analyisis of coverage (tone)
- Tracking special media coverage or campaigns (proactive)
- Proving year-over-year benchmarking, value and success
- Share of voice feature to demonstrate performance of direct competitors
- Developing charts that are easy to interpret for non-media professionals
- Benchmarking areas to demonstrate success
- Getting more accurate (relevant) media value - as today I am still doing too much work whittling down relevant coverage versus all coverage
- Removing innapropriate coverage (can be done today but haven't had the time to figure out how to do it)
- Communicating with media representatives
