Overall Satisfaction with TriNet
Trinet is used by our company for all HR functions. It addresses our needs for payroll processing, benefits manager, and overall HR advice.
- Payroll processing.
- Benefits offerings for employees.
- Availability to employee needs.
- The on boarding process is quite cumbersome and time-consuming for small companies with no HR departments.
- The overall amount of benefits structures available can seem daunting for small employers to narrow down.
- The previous dashboard was complicated but Trinet's new interface is much easier to use. Still requires some time to get used to. Provides perhaps more functions than needed for a small business.
- It has certainly reduced payroll processing functions.
- Ability to obtain competitive medical plans not usually available to a very small business.
- Ease of use for employees.
Used only Wells Fargo payroll processing but it pales in comparison to Trinet.

Evaluating TriNet and Competitors
Yes - We used to do basic payroll through another provider. No other benefits were offered.
- Price
- Product Features
- Product Usability
Being a small company, it was important that we find a solid and cost-effective HR solution so we could focus on operating the company. Payroll and compliance are no longer concerns that we have. The vast benefits available allow us to grow into the system as the company grows. It's a solution we can easily utilize as we grow exponentially.
I would certainly compare options with other online providers and get a better understanding of the setup process.
TriNet Implementation
- Implemented in-house
Yes - I don't remember the actual phases but it was broken down and took several days to complete.
Change management was a minor issue with the implementation - When the change occurred, a payroll period went unreported between Trinet and the previous provider. This became a long process to resolve with the IRS.
- Having all the employee documents available
- Not understanding the role of each member of the Trinet team
- Not reporting a payroll period to the IRS
