Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

TriNet is being used across the whole organization in various ways - expense management, payroll processing, recruiting, etc.
  • The support team is very responsive
  • The platform is user friendly and scalable
  • TriNet's service provides very good "bang for your buck"
  • There needs to be better integration between the Payroll and Expense platforms. It's currently very clunky
  • SSO integration with GL platforms can stand to be easier
The Customer Service team is very responsive and generally resolves issues after the first call/contact.
While the platform is user friendly, it can improve on its flexibility and integration.
  • TriNet has allowed us to focus on growing the company versus payroll processing, etc.
  • TriNet has been extremely helpful in helping us with employee termination issues/concerns.
TriNet is not the cheapest platform by any means, but I believe that it does provide great value as a PEO for a small company.
TriNet is well suited for small companies (10-50 FTE) and for those companies who do not have a fully staffed accounting/finance team. TriNet provides the best value as a PEO.

Using TriNet

20 - Finance, Sales, Production, Engineering
2 - Detail-oriented individuals with insight on payroll, HR, etc.
  • Payroll processing
  • HR functions like medical/dental benefits
  • Employee matters
  • Performance management reviews
  • Expense management/reimbursement tools
  • We utilize it to (more or less) its capacity currently
Good tool for a small company but high admin fees

Evaluating TriNet and Competitors

  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
  • Prior Experience with the Product
  • Vendor Reputation
For a small company, price and reputation were deciding factors
I would welcome the Trinet sales team to the office and walk through all functionality of platform, and all of its options

TriNet Implementation

The current process seems to work well
Change management was minimal - The Trinet team does almost all of the "heavy lifting". We just needed corporate buy-in in terms of usage
  • None at all, honestly

Configuring TriNet

It's just right but as the platform grows, I would expense a lot better integration capabilities
Talk to Trinet Cloud, often
No - we have not done any custom code

TriNet Support

ProsCons
Quick Resolution
Knowledgeable team
Problems get solved
Kept well informed
Immediate help available
Support cares about my success
None
Yes - It took multiple escalations but was finally resolved
Yes - dealing with employee termination issues

Using TriNet

ProsCons
Like to use
Relatively simple
Easy to use
Technical support not required
Quick to learn
Convenient
Feel confident using
Familiar
None
  • Payroll processing is easy to use
  • The integration between Expense and Payroll is clean
  • choosing benefit plans
  • Perform could use a lot of work to bring it up to par with other platforms
  • Loading and deleting expenses on Expense/Payroll should be a lot cleaner

TriNet Reliability

I see some holes in terms of scaling up to a 50-100 FTE group
It's available but sometimes escalations are necessary
The platform performs reasonably well

Integrating TriNet

  • QuickBooks
It should have been fairly straightforward but there didn't seem to be the internal knowledge within the Trinet team to help us integrate
You'll spend more time than you initially imagined

Relationship with TriNet

Good, informative people
Our Sales Rep, Nicole Guig, is fantastic
Price, performance, benefits optionality
Be honest and tell the team your pain points. They do a good job to try to figure our solutions

Upgrading TriNet

  • User friendly interface
  • More optionality
  • Seamless integration with Expense/Payroll/Perform
  • SSO with accounting software should be easier
