Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

We use TriNet to manage our US operations. It helps manage payroll, personnel records, benefits and tax records.
  • HR advice and guidance - It's great to have a team to bounce ideas off and get advice. The legal escalation team is also very helpful when complex issues arise.
  • Payroll - even the most complex payroll questions can be easily answered by the TriNet team.
  • Benefits - the range of carriers gives employees a wide range of options and price points to chose from.
  • Unemployment claims - TriNet makes handling unemployment claims simple.
  • The software is very clunky and outdated. They're working with a lot of legacy code that's bad and they're piling new stuff on top. I'd rather see them create something new and launch it at one time rather than all this piled on top of old code nonsense. It's too unstable and frustratingly difficult to use.
  • Some company reps aren't as knowledgeable as others so you've got to know who to talk to otherwise you could be working with bad information.
I have a great team that supports me, and for that, I am very lucky.
The software is held back by its clunky interface and functionality. It's not at all user-friendly.
  • TriNet is a one-stop shop for benefits, payroll and employee personnel.
TriNet's benefits offerings leave all others in the dust.
If a company has less than 50 employees I always recommend a PEO like TriNet, particularly if they have young/green management and employees with shared HR responsibilities.

Evaluating TriNet and Competitors

Benefit offerings and HR service
I wouldn't. I have done this multiple times, TriNet always wins as the best PEO offering out there right now.
