Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

HR questions, payroll, and insurance across the whole organization. TriNet addresses those three things.
  • Communication for questions I have, specifically on an administrative level.
  • The variety and choice of health insurance.
  • The website platform is informative and useful.
  • Maybe on the website it would be helpful for the employee to be able to know who to contact, and for what, right away instead of trying to search for it
  • The pop-ups for reports, and when I go to other pages, I don't love.
Every one of the people I contact is very on top of questions I email them about.
It looks good and it's easy to see everything. My only thing is the constant popping up and opening of another window. I also do wish I could input I-9 information before they start.
  • Ease of payroll entry.
  • Giving us insurance choices.
  • Giving us knowledge on HR that no one had prior.
They have tried to make the federal FFCRA payments workable with their system.

Do you think TriNet delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Did implementation of TriNet go as expected?

Would you buy TriNet again?

Three years ago, when I switched, TriNet was better because it had a better, easier website, more insurance choices, and it was a little bit cheaper at the time.
It's perfect for not having in house HR and getting better insurance rates, although it's still a little pricey.

Using TriNet

35 - they are mostly all architects and interior designers, one marketing guy, and me the administrator
1 - I'm usually the only person dealing with trinet. The employees use the general employee contact for personal matters when it comes to their benefits, but I'm the one dealing with the payroll and the implementation of informatoin
  • Payroll organization
  • Health Insurance
  • Human Resource direction and advice
  • The marketplace
  • The commuter benefits Wage Works
  • The PTO accounting and implementation and how automatic everything is
  • HR things, like immigration and maternity leave
  • financial tracking when it comes to salaries
  • I can't think of anything else
the customer service has served me well. Also, it's way too hard to switch information

Evaluating TriNet and Competitors

Yes - ADP TotalSource, becaues Trinet courted us and gave us better savings
  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
it saved us per employee on price, and also the choice in health insurance
I would have negotiated maybe a better price per person rate? Now that we've grown, it's become a bit pricey

TriNet Implementation

It was long and difficult, but it was done
Yes - It was three years ago, so I don't recall
  • Just getting all the right data in place

TriNet Training

  • Online training
  • in-person training
it's been awhile, but I recall them being helpful. I got through a lot of it and when I needed help, they can walk me through it over the phone. It's also pretty user friendly in general at a platform. I don't really know what else to type, but they came and helped me in person and also when there was something new, they came and talked to me. They have not done that since with the new model that I hate.
it was good, but now I haven't done much and since they changed their model, it's a lot harder to deal with. We're talking online training of the trinet platform and not the online training they provide, right? Their online training is ok, and is unfortunate that there is a totally separate model for training that costs extra when we would only watch one or two things. However, the mandatory sexual harassment training is actually pretty good, it was just a little clunky

Configuring TriNet

It's not too complex, though it's a little extensive with things I don't use and can be simplified. Like there are dropdowns for information, and I'd prefer dropdowns for active things
No - there is no facility to customize the interface
No - the product does not support adding custom code
I have customized some reports, but that's it

TriNet Support

Quick Resolution
Good followup
Knowledgeable team
Problems get solved
No escalation required
Immediate help available
Support cares about my success
Quick Initial Response
Need to explain problems multiple times
I think I already pay enough, but I also haven't had the need to pay for the premium support, or I don't see the of cost-benefit
Yes - I don't know if it was resolved. The site was showing me a weird warning when there was
no warning and I was told IT would fix it.
Nichol Dark has helped immensely when it comes to my first maternity leave. I have yet to have an employee go through it, so my first one, she guided me throughout the whole way

Using TriNet

Like to use
Relatively simple
Easy to use
Technical support not required
Well integrated
Quick to learn
Feel confident using
Lots to learn
  • they payroll system is easy
  • looking at PTO balances is easy
  • The general platform on the employee side is simple with the pie charts
  • I don't like how another window opens for certain things like Reports and Payroll
  • When I enter PTO, I would like to see the balance after I in put the PTO taken. RIght now if someone has 10 hours PTO, and I remove 6, there is a little number that shows up below it that still says 10. I would like it to minus out the amount that I just put in, so you can see how much PTO they really have left.
  • I don't like how I can't delete an employee that never started. I've had to do this twice and they both show up in the system even though they have never come into work nor have I paid them anything
  • I would also like the billing from Trinet to be a bit more transparent. I'm not getting a detailed invoice on YOUR charges.

TriNet Reliability

The website is pretty good, but it's not personal and requires me to contact trinet.
They used to be really good at this when I had a dedicated person. Now that it's a general customer service account, it's really gone downhill and I don't get responses at all sometimes
Pages load at a speed that isn't too fast or too slow. I never have to wait long, but it's not instantaneous

Integrating TriNet

I don'tknow, I'm just answering this question
  • Quickbooks
I guess it's pretty easy, it's just for payroll. There's nothing else that we integrate it with, though

Relationship with TriNet

I recall it being pretty good and them holding my hand through out
It was really good for several years. It has since gone downhill
I wish their health insurance got better as it's gone up, I know that it does that, but their whole thing was that since they were a larger network, we could get cheaper insurance than if we did it ourselves and that's not proving to be true

Upgrading TriNet
