Overall Satisfaction with UKG Pro

We implemented UKG Pro in December 2019. It is being used across the whole organization (spanning 8 provinces in Canada) and has solved a lot of our employee self-service problems. Employees can view and edit their data.
  • Business Intelligence Reporting
  • Timesheets
  • Onboarding
  • Timesheets reporting
  • Compensation
  • Ability to manage all HR activities within one platform
  • Employee self service
  • Time savings with quick reporting
Pages load quickly but depending on the size of the report, it could be slow.
Some supports are faster than others.

Do you think UKG Pro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with UKG Pro's feature set?

Yes

Did UKG Pro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of UKG Pro go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy UKG Pro again?

Yes

Just this past week I had an issue with a BI report and opened a case. In no time, I got a call from Shane and he not only helped with fixing the report (which was a feed to a 3rd party vendor), but he also scheduled time to explain the what, the how, and the why of the formula. I used the opportunity to bring up other BI issues I had with other reports and he didn't hesitate to jump on help me resolve them. I was so impressed, I had to send him a Thank you/Well done card.
well suited - where the user or company has the standard benefit programs (not an overly complex flex credit system)
less appropriate - where the compensation is complex (Salary Planning and Bonus Planning are deployed same time during the year)

Upgrading UKG Pro

Yes - UKG has a few releases every year. The major one being the spring release. The recent changes and upgrades were most welcome. I particularly also like the fact that the merger with Kronos went through as the time module is much better and [more] usable.
  • Easier time reporting
  • More usable functionalities
  • User friendly
  • Proxy as users
  • More automated ways to created dashboards
  • More colorful platform (appealing to the eyes)

UKG Pro Training

I recommend you go through the Ulti University courses available. They are out of the box and very helpful. Depending on your admin role you could follow the laid down path.
  • Online training
  • in-person training

Using UKG Pro

-web configuration

-time and attendance functionalities
  • Employee data
  • Reporting and analytics
  • Payroll processing
  • Tax forms in Document library

Evaluating UKG Pro and Competitors

UKG
  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
I may still sway between UKG and workday...

UKG Pro Implementation

Change management was a major issue with the implementation
  • Resistance to change

Configuring UKG Pro

I think it's just right. We have not had any interface issues with any of our current vendors yet.
Recommend you use an out of the box feature
Yes - we have customized the interface extensively
We created user-defined fields in order to be able to report on a few features that are not out-of-the-box fields

UKG Pro Support

ProsCons
Knowledgeable team
Kept well informed
Poor followup
Escalation required
Not sure if we have premium support (I didn't even know that was a thing) but we are able to add an IBP to our cases for added priority. I feel the level of support depends on the laps that your case falls on. I have had very fast support (Like Shane) and I have had very unyielding support. But I would recommend that one includes an IBP on urgent cases. However, there is also a hotline that one could call if push comes to shove and you HAVE to get this done like right away.

Using UKG Pro

ProsCons
Like to use
Relatively simple
Easy to use
Technical support not required
Well integrated
Consistent
Quick to learn
Convenient
Feel confident using
Familiar
None
  • Reporting
  • Updates in the core
  • Creating dashboards
  • Timesheets custom reporting
Yes - The mobile interface works great. It is more convenient and I particularly recommend that all employees use it
Most of the modules are pretty straightforward. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure things out.

UKG Pro Reliability

There are unplanned outages, but these are communicated to all impacted users and are usually resolved within an average of 24 hours

Integrating UKG Pro

  • Cornerstone for Onboarding
Not difficult at all.
  • Calabrio
The vendors plan to support this integration
  • File import/export
  • Single Signon
  • API (e.g. SOAP or REST)
It is important to get all stakeholders (UKG, User, Vendor) in the same room and on the same page at all times in order to set expectations aright. This saves a huge amount of time

Relationship with UKG

We have a bi-weekly meeting with the account manager. We have direct access to the Executive rep
Be nice, be courteous and be understanding
