Overall Satisfaction with UKG Pro
We used UKG Pro for multiple aspects of our business. Our contract consisted of payroll, benefits administration, ACA tracking, time and attendance, reporting (including custom), and HRIS. Our goal with this product was to have an all-in-one solution that allowed for the easy transfer of information. From the time an employee became active until after they left the organization. We wanted all information to flow into various aspects of the system to make our processes more efficient and timely. During my tenure, we expanded our relationship with the product to include a transition from paper personnel files to electronic personnel files. As I was leaving that organization, we also partnered with UKG Pro to upgrade our time and attendance program within their platform offerings. This was key for us as we used various reporting in the time and attendance module to drive our staffing forecasts.
- The flow of information works when it's implemented properly.
- The payroll admin side was easy to use from start to finish.
- The HRIS and the Employee Documents partnership provided a seamless space for storing documents by employees.
- The benefits admin package was clunky and hard to pull reports from causing our benefits team to have more manual work than should have been necessary.
- The time and attendance package we had originally was difficult when it came to reporting because of the security access levels associated with it during set-up.
- Extreme time saver for personnel file management and personnel file audits when we went from paper to electronic within UKG. Our Regional Directors no longer had to travel on location to complete file audits.
- Staffing planning was difficult because of the lack of data we were able to capture via the time and attendance platform.
- We were easily able to run multiple payroll cycles at any given time and with minimal additional costs.
I didn't select UKG Pro at this company. That decision was made prior to my joining. However, I have had the opportunity to evaluate UKG Pro next to ADP Workforce Now, and I opted to go with ADP Workforce Now. The reasons for that decision boiled down to the level of control we could maintain within the product, and ADP's level of customer service was better based on previous interactions I had with them. ADP's reporting functions and "Field Grabber" was selling point for me, and ADP costs were lower when averaged out by employee/month.

We centralized our personnel file records into electronic format and stored them within UKG Pro. This allowed us to have access to personnel file compliance audit reports at our fingertips and follow up on outstanding items quicker. Being in healthcare, there is no tolerance for non-compliance, and this was a key area of focus for our business. We improved compliance rates by 25% in the first quarter of going live, and we reduced time-to-compliance during follow-up by 13 days because the system allowed for us to manage uploads and emails directly from the system to the employee and vice versus.
