Overall Satisfaction with UltiPro

UltiPro software is used for payroll and HR, and covers all of our domestic employees. We use an interface to another software for timekeeping, and to our ERP for general ledger downloads. It has provided structure across different departments and different payroll personnel, and eliminated most manual calculations or various listings we previously kept. It is easy to use, easy to train others. Set up for new departments, companies, and people is easy and can be set up to use wizards as a training tool. Our original cut over from a previous software was not complicated.
  • Ease of use - tree format is set up in a manner that is intuitive, and access is available to data in multiple ways.
  • Ease of set up - Payroll takes responsibility for setting up most new codes and departments, etc. Again, very easy to set up anything in the fields you need.
  • Report writing - payroll reports are generally set up well and can be used as canned reports. HR reports are not as easy to manipulate or set up, but are not a problem if someone is familiar with report writing software like Cognos or Access.
  • Would love to have a few more customizable fields, or at least fields where we could change the names of the field, but not lose them with upgrades or lose the integrity of the report writing.
  • We need a strategic presentation, with a hands-on demonstration, of where we are under-utilizing the programs we have - without it being a sales pitch to buy another module.
We used it for +900 employees in six different states - worked quite well. As we have down-sized, it scales with us. Just released some international capabilities, and we may decide to move forward with that in 2016. There are clients with +5000 or more who use it, and it still is appropriate for larger sizes.

UltiPro Implementation

Weekly meetings are important - insist on that for the duration of the project. Ultipro was very supportive.

UltiPro Training

Adequate, but doesn't give you the detailed training of what you could do for further enhancements. Sometimes, that is a training that is needed about a year after you begin using it, and you don't know that you need the training. Would like to see a technical advisor who VISITS our location and works with us to see what system improvements we can make.
Much more worthwhile to have a person there to review the actual things that matter to you. On-line training sometimes tries to be all things to all people, and shows us things we don't care about, or will never use.

UltiPro Support

They are not proactive in moving us towards more productivity. However, responses to problems, tax issues, reporting questions, are all answered promptly and accurately. Sometimes we hear from UltiPro only when they need a reference, or when billing time/contract time is up.

Integrating UltiPro

Would be easier if there were more "plug and play" options with popular vendors.

Relationship with Ultimate Software

Not always sure who was the best person to contact for specific questions. Little contact in recent years with management or sales.
Rarely hear from anyone associated with the sales side. Actually just received an email today.
