Overall Satisfaction with UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)

We currently use Ulti as our organization's HRIS system. We use the system as our Core HR, Compensation Management, Performance Management, Time Management, LMS and Recruiting and Onboarding currently.
  • The core system is top notch we never have any problems with it.
  • Our launch experience was very positive with lots of wonderful support.
  • Benefits Admin is a beast! We tracked the time we spent this year and it was well over 300 hours prepping for open enrollment and double checking behind.
  • In core - an offboarding workflow that is more configurable.
  • In core - more spaces in the job title field.
  • Little things here or there with modules but the big ones are above.
  • We are switching from UltiPro Learning this year. NOT user friendly at all for end user or admin.
  • We cancelled perceptions - it wasn’t intuitive for the admins and was super expensive
  • I think we've benefited from going paperless. We have moved all hiring and employee personnel file management to Ulti
  • There are several inefficiencies that cause extra work, so even though it's all in one place sometimes it's hard to pull the correct information out of the system efficiently.
  • Consolidating HR administration under a single solution
I'd like to see enhanced (off-boarding) we have dropped some of the modules because they were not user friendly or were way more than we could pay in the market for a better product (Perceptions, UltiPro Learning) and we are thinking about dropping benefits admin for the same reason. I think there are some things we have had success with, including hiring (recruiting/onboarding) and compensation.
Paycom was really good but Ulti won out over them for us because of a values match. That was four years ago and before the merger though, so I don't know if that is still as aligned as it was.
I think there are intermittent outages on certain platforms, but it's not so severe or noticeable that I think it's a problem.
I think it's okay. Sometimes I put in a ticket and don't hear anything for days. I then follow up with our account rep and something gets done. I think if you put in a ticket you shouldn't have to go another route to get your answer too.
Yes, we just put in a ticket this week and got REALLY great support. Andrew Cox on Case 20538187 - fixed our retro pay that has NEVER worked. It was perfect timing because we are getting ready to do compensation plan submission with retro pay back to 1/1.
I think it works great for a company our size (400) that is fairly complicated in our structure. I don't know who it would not be suitable for.

Upgrading UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)

Yes - It did, more communication would be ideal about when it's happening and what is changing. The only unexpected impacts were to the end user's interface changing and we were not aware before it happened.

UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro) Training

I would say no - training is a must!
I think they train you when you implement a product but it's a standard training for everyone. If you want more in-depth assistance in setting up a module or questions once you get it going, you are out of luck.

Using UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)

360 - All of our business lines use it from an employee perspective. From an admin perspective I would say: HR, Finance and IT use it exclusively.
3 - A deep understanding of the system is needed. We have one "expert" and that is because that person help set it up and has been an admin from the beginning.
  • Core Employee record keeping
  • Payroll
  • Hiring
  • None that I know of
  • None that I know of
I think we are a bit indifferent to the product now. We know it's super hard to change vendors, we know the limitations of the modules. Right now we are backing out of modules that are too expensive or cumbersome to use and going to third party vendors.

Evaluating UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro) and Competitors

  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
  • Product Reputation
Probably product features and then price.
I would have loved to "kick the tires" of some of the modules before contracting with them. I think our eval and selection process was good.

UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro) Implementation

We had a great point person rep
Yes - I don't remember but it was well done!
Change management was minimal
  • Just integrity of our data internally

Configuring UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)

Seems fairly limited and VERY complex.
Make a list of things you want BEFORE you finish with your implementation team and have them help you.
Some - we have done small customizations to the interface
Some - we have added small pieces of custom code

UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro) Support

ProsCons
None
Poor followup
Not kept informed
Escalation required
Difficult to get immediate help
Need to explain problems multiple times
Slow Initial Response
No, didn't know there was such a thing?

Using UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)

ProsCons
Like to use
Feel confident using
Inconsistent
Lots to learn
  • Anything in Core is pretty good.
  • REPORTING - You have to be an IT professional to get the info you need
  • Offboarding/Employee Termination
  • Benefits Administration
Yes - AWFUL! Mine hasn't worked for over a year even with support tickets in.

UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro) Reliability

We are not global, I don't think it would be great for global, but there may be a different product for that. We are easily able to add departments, etc. to the system.
It's fairly reliable and not many outages. Just on ancillary products.

Integrating UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)

Just depends on what/who you are integrating with. If they have an API you are golden if not, you're in for a long haul.
  • Outmatch
  • Everify
  • Vault Verify
  • Some IT API's
  • Benefits broker file feeds
The ones Ulti "partners" with (has APIs for) weren't too bad because they already had API's. The file feeds for benefits vendors are horrible and take FOREVER to set up. It took almost a year to get our medical file feed set up and correct.
  • Possibly LMS vendors
We haven't chosen a vendor yet.
  • File import/export
  • Single Signon
  • API (e.g. SOAP or REST)
Start integrations with benefits vendors ASAP - assume it will take MONTHS!

Relationship with UKG

Our sales person was amazing and still keeps in touch.
We don't get near the attention or support we did in sales and in implementation.
I think communication is really bad. We never get anything from our main rep unless we reach out to her.
