Overall Satisfaction with Unitrends Data Center Backup and Recovery
Unitrends is used for backing up our on premise data across the organization. The primary function is recovery of lost or accidentally deleted files from our file server. In the event of an environmental disaster it creates offsite and cold copies of critical data and infrastructure. If a server were to become corrupt we could rebuild it from a backup vs having to start from scratch.

- It has saved some deleted file server data for our business department.
- We have lost some reports for the business department due to an overlooked setting that make the backup reports look great, but the server was not being backed up in reality.
- Less anxiety for the IT department, we have backup plan and that is worth a lot to us.

- Veeam Backup & Replication
From looking at the demo a few years back Veeam had some nice AD integrations that Unitrends lacks. However, for us the difference in pricing was too much to justify going with Veeam over Unitrends. Our main consultant does not have engineers that are familiar with Unitrends, they are all very familiar with Veeam. We did find a local Unitrends partner that has good engineers if we run into an issue we cannot solve on our own. That was a big factor for us sticking with Unitrends. The newer interface on Unitrends made our lives a lot easier and really saved it.
