Overall Satisfaction with Unitrends Recovery Series Backup Appliance

We use Unitrends Recovery Series Backup Appliance for our disaster recovery plan. In times of need it has saved time and money. We use it to backup our whole environment for instance servers, file shares, Exchange, SharePoint, and SQL databases. What is really great is you don't need additional licenses to backup different applications.
  • Restoring files, databases, Exchange mail items, and servers. Unitrends has done a great job making the process easy and quick.
  • Configuring backup with their GUI interface is simple.
  • Backups are fast and are compressed nicely.
  • Backups and restore are fully customizable.
  • The process of configuring backup can be complicated for new users.
  • It has saved us with every day file recoverys and a server recovery.
Unitrends gives you a better backup configuration of applications than Acronis. Veeam is a great backup solution but Unitrends out beats [them] by giving you reliable local backups.
It can be difficult to have the correct appliance for environments that increase size quickly.

1 - You need to have someone with base line knowledge of how backup and recovery work.

  • We use a tape drive for archiving vital information that isn't current.

I wouldn't change a thing. I have many different solutions and this is one of the best.

Yes - I never want to be without successful backups.
Yes - Yes it was corrected in a timely manner.
I was having issues with SQL 2014 database backup and discovered there was a bug. The engineers stuck with it and developed a fix. It was a great experience.
