Overall Satisfaction with Unitrends Recovery Series Backup Appliance
We use the appliance to backup the data center at our headquarter site as well as servers at some of our remote sites. It allows us to back up both VMware virtual machine images as well as file-level backups.
- The ability to backup nearly anything; VMware, Hyper-V (only used by us for testing), physical servers, and filesystems.
- On-demand instant recovery is quick/efficient.
- Reporting/alerting is very easy to use and is able to be consumed by technical and non-technical staff.
- Agent updates can be tedious.
- While we've not yet experienced an enterprise-wide problem where Unitrends would have provided a tangible ROI, I'm confident in its ability to do so should we be faced with it given the times we've had to use the appliance to restore.
- The ability to use the appliance as a store for data involved in legal e-discovery also provided an unanticipated benefit.
