Overall Satisfaction with Vagrant
We use Vagrant to provision development environments for web developers.
- Consistent, reliable virtual environments for web development
- Easy to use commands
- Lacks a GUI, would be useful for entry level users
- Uses lots of resources on old machines
- Compatibility issues with some operating systems (Windows 8.1 home, Windows 10 home)
- Faster kick offs on projects
- Identical dev environments for users with different background and expertise
- Docker
Docker feels lighter, faster, but Vagrant offers better support across platforms, which is a must in my company where there are users on Linux, Mac OS and Windows.
