Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365

The product is being used to back up the most important mailboxes across the organization. We didn't have any email back up solution in place until I mentioned Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365. It's a very easy application to use.

Pros

  • Easy to configure
  • Easy to use

Cons

  • It does what is says on the tin. I could not have asked for a simpler application.
  • We just needed a backup tool and this was highly recommended.
We moved from Exchange 2010 to Microsoft Office 365. We were backing up Exchange 2010 using Backup Exec but there was nothing for Office 365. We also had an issue where a user needed a folder recovered which was deleted and there was no quick way to do this. Veeam Backup for Office 365 allows us to do this.
It's simple to use. Nothing fancy about navigating users backed up emails, folders, and OneDrive.
So far only user mistakes. I don't want to go down the route of thinking about malicious attacks.
We have used the export as PST on several occasions but primarily it's about individual restores.
1. You can quickly choose whether it's SharePoint, OneDrive, or Exchange without having to navigate the whole lot.
2. Quickly choose the location of the restore.
None. This was the only choice.
I had to call the support a few times. They were always helpful and knew the best way to resolve the issues. Good tech support team. :)

I would highly recommend the use of Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365. There have been a number of starters and leavers who have cleared their mailboxes prior to leaving and their emails need to be recovered. With GDPR, I'm not sure if there is a way to remove someone's information from the backups. It might be worth looking into that.
