Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365

We use [Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365] to back up our Sharepoint Online data and emails in Office 365. We are heavily leveraging Sharepoint for collaboration on design work, so having backups of this data is crucial for us. Beam for Office 365 is part of our Disaster Recovery strategy and our Incident Response plans.

  • Easy to use if you need to restore a large or small amount of data.
  • Provides additional peace of mind in addition to the built-in resilience and high availability of cloud services.
  • It would be helpful to have a little more detail on errors if they occur.
  • Hard to remove users if you no longer need to back them up.
  • Easily restore data a user accidentally deletes.
  • Recover emails for discovery.
  • Cloud platforms are not immune to cyberattacks, so adding resilience improves business continuity.
During the pandemic, we made the decision to begin utilizing Sharepoint Online as our primary design space. Previously this was done on internal file servers that were backed up regularly. We knew it would be critical to [maintaining] the availability of backups as we made this transition, and we were already using Veeam products, so this was an easy decision.
Very easy to get set up and use. If you have already been using Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 to back up local data, then the user interface and general functionality will be familiar and easy to understand. Recovering data is quick and easy and can be as broad or targeted as you need. [Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 is] very robust in what it can backup and how.
We sometimes need to restore an older version of a plan if design changes were made then the changes were determined to be unnecessary. We can easily help our design teams quickly get back an older version of plans prior to changes being made. Backups are also critical for discovery.
The restore options are a great feature and we have used most of them multiple times. If designers need an older copy of a plan we can restore that into local storage so it doesn’t overwrite what exists on Sharepoint. The designers can then compare and contrast the drawings and choose to replace what is on Sharepoint or modify it based on a previous version.
Resilience and [the] ability to respond to disasters or attacks are critical [for] every organization. Veeam is a key component of our strategy.

Backing up emails and other personal data from Office 365 also [lets] us quickly reclaim the license when a user is terminated. We don’t have to jump through any hoops because we know the data is backed up and available.
We have been using other Veeam products [for] a long time. They are easy to use and very reliable. Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 is the gold standard in backups for a reason. The products work great and the support is excellent if you need it. No other product I evaluated was as simple or complete.
Veeam support has always been quick and responsive. The agents are professional and very knowledgeable, so we always get issues resolved quickly and efficiently.

If you are using Office 365 and have critical data in email, OneDrive, or Sharepoint you still need to have a backup strategy. Protection built into the cloud platform is good but is not a substitute for true backups. This can be especially important in the event of a cyberattack or a malicious insider.
