Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365

We are a 100% cloud company using Office 365 Business One Drive for our file share. We needed a backup solution with quick reliable restore of our entire 365 environments, namely Exchange, and One Drive. It is used by IT to back up the whole organization and it addresses our need for backup and restore as well as the ability to store offsite.

Pros

  • Set it and forget it backup jobs.
  • Easy restore.
  • Extremely intuitive.
  • Time is a commodity; not having to spend time to restore.
  • Individual mailbox restore full or down to the email.
  • Point in time back up of files is great.
I inherited a new company to manage IT, and needed a backup and restore solution. I had the same scenario at my previous company. I was partnered with a local MSP Accudata System who came in and pitched a backup solution for Office 365 using Veeam. I was quickly impressed at its speed and usability. It sold itself.
The fact that I evaluated it at one company and used for several years then came to a new company and brougt it with me. This was a home run with upper management.
We have many low-tech users and do the restores for them. In my previous organization, we utilized these features and the end-users loved the ability to pull back accidentally deleted files.
Backup and Restore. It is so easy to launch the application open the applications explorer menu and find the time of the backup you are looking for and then right-clicking and choosing your restore options. We use these features daily and they make our job so much easier.
Usability was everything. All have their place, Backup Exec, Net Backup, Veritas, etc., but if you are 100% cloud, nothing beats Veeam.
I have only once had to call support and it was a fast, easy experience to get to the right tech via prompts and I was surprised and pleased to get a native speaker.

If you want to back up Office 365 there is no easier system than Veeam to do so. This is the second company where I've implemented this technology.
