Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication
We use Veeam Backup and Replication across our organization to facilitate backup and recovery of our Hyper-V workloads. We currently write our backups to a local NAS and are planning to implement moving backups offsite to cloud storage. We've used the community edition for quite a few years for manual backups and have recently purchased a license allowing us to schedule backups automatically and access all of the other product features.
- Virtualized workloads
- Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
- NAS filers
- In addition to back up, we also replicate some of these workloads
- In addition to back up, we also snapshot some of these workloads
- Application-centric recovery using Veeam Explorers (for Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc)
- License portability as your environment needs change
- Application-centric recovery using Veeam Explorers (for Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc)
- Reliable and consistently recoverable VM Backups.
- Excellent product support. Very responsive.
- Good online documentation.
- This is a complex product and there is a learning curve.
- Perhaps make it more clear how to recover a Hyper-V VM backup to a different Hyper-V host.
- More documentation and video examples of common use cases.

Would you buy Veeam Data Platform Foundation again?
Yes
We have Veeam Backup and Replication installed on 4 Hyper-V hosts and back up approximately 10 VMs.
- Positive impact by reducing the workload of backing up VMs manually.
We were doing manual and therefore inconsistent backups using Veeam Community Edition. Purchasing a license gave us the ability to schedule backups, therefore reducing manual workload. Also, we can now do a weekly full backup and daily incremental backups which saves space on our NAS as opposed to doing full backups on every backup cycle.
We plan to implement storing backups in the cloud in the future. We currently do this manually, so being able to automate this process would save additional time.
