Veeam Backup & Replication
Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication
We have used Veeam for multiple purposes but overall, our primary and secondary (offsite) backup solution for an internal and external business. We implemented our disaster recovery solution with Veeam to back up all infra and data and replicate the environment to offsite (excellent replication) for any DR incident we may experience.
- Virtualized workloads
- Cloud-hosted VMs within AWS or Azure
- NAS filers
- In addition to back up, we also replicate some of these workloads
- Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
- “Instant” recovery or portability between platforms (physical > virtual > cloud-hosted)
- “Instant” recovery or portability between platforms (physical > virtual > cloud-hosted)
Pros
- Cover multiple cloud service providers such as AWS and Azure
- Can utilize cloud-based storage
- Great solution for virtual environment
Cons
- It would be great to utilize appliance based solution as well.
- Providing a storage solution (native) from Veeam

We have multiple layers of protection and disaster recovery solutions via Veeam. Mainly for a virtual environment such as virtual machines and virtual appliances. All systems and data have been replicated to cloud systems and storage for replication and disaster recovery purposes. We are looking for an improvement on Veeam in adapting and utilizing cloud-based systems and storage for backup and DR solutions. Still, there has been no comparable product and service in the market yet.
- From the experience I have so far, it's positive impact and ROI when using Veeam
Although we currently have multiple layers of protection and disaster recovery solutions
via Veeam, we are also looking for an improvement on Veeam in adapting and
utilizing cloud-based systems and storage for backup and DR solutions. We haven't been able to find a comparable product and service in the market yet, but it may be a game-changer if there is any in the future.

Most of our systems are in a virtual environment such as virtual machines and
virtual appliances and using Veeam backup and replication solution works great and beneficial so far. We also put all systems and data into replicated cloud
systems and storage environments as a way of replication and disaster recovery
purpose.

Our primary backup storage is NAS-based, and we have multiple layers of backup and disaster recovery solutions
via Veeam. We also use SAN-based storage for our backup and DR. Using the NAS backup solution via Veeam has been working great because most of our IT infra is already in a virtual environment, such as virtual machines and
virtual appliances.
