We use Veeam Backup & Replication to ensure our virtualized systems are backed up properly. In addition, we also provide 30-60 days of recovery storage in the event of loss, data theft, or the inevitable threat of actor apprehension of data or systems. Every business must decide what is most important when it comes to data, and ensure solutions are able to resolve any issues which could arise. Our specific use case involves multi-layer protection against threat actors, and Veeam Backup & Replication ensures we are able to recover in the event of ransomware or any other data loss within a 24-hour period of time.

We are able to use Veeam in our virtual environment to back up and restore over 50 virtualized servers and nearly 100 mailboxes in the cloud.
- The ROI is nearly impossible to provide, do you want your business to be able to operate when a failure occurs, or do you want to just stop servicing your customers?
- What used to take several days to occur can now happen within minutes. Data restoration previously took hours to go through tapes, and now with Veeam occurs within minutes with a quick historical search/restore.
We made the leap to Veeam several years ago after using Veritas for many years. Veeam is much easier to use and has broader capabilities with multiple products as well as a better price point for licensing.
We have implemented a multi-layer approach to our backups and restoration. We use both internal cloud and virtualized systems, and conduct backup and restorations of our cloud services. When providers run into roadblocks, we have greater confidence in our ability to find what is needed today, tomorrow, and even from yesterday using Veeam.
The NAS/File-share backup solution is currently being tested in our labs, and we have plans to enact this solution from Veeam soon.

Having spend more than three decades in the technology field, I have used many products to ensure our data was backed up properly. However, Veeam truly provided the example for others to follow by improving the interface for administrators and ensuring backups were secure. In addition, the multi-faceted approach to also being able to replicate our backups to an offsite storage system/facility improved our disaster recovery stance and ensured our business could move forward in the event of an outage or datastore meltdown. We can now stand up our offsite facility to get back to business within hours, giving us true peace of mind.
To be honest, we would not change a thing. We evaluated several products and used the experience of our top Administrators and leaders to make the right decision.
