We use Veeam to backup our on-prem environment and offload backups to AWS S3.

- Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
- Cloud-hosted VMs within AWS or Azure
- Capacity Tier to store data within object storage for longer term retention
- Immutable storage to protect against ransomware
- “Instant” recovery or portability between platforms (physical > virtual > cloud-hosted)
- Capacity Tier to store data within object storage for longer term retention
- File level OS Restore.
- Offload Backups to AWS S3.
- Restore from S3 to EC2 takes way too long.
- Backups jobs still hang for no reason.

Previous IT engineers decided to switch from backup exec to Veeam.

We use veeam to backup our on-prem file shares and it has been useful to restore individual files.
