Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication
We use Veeam Backup & Replication to back up our Virtual Server infrastructure on-premises and also use it to back up to the cloud for disaster recovery. We need the ability to be able to restore both files and also application items like SQL databases. We have up to 3 copies of every server in different locations and Veeam Backup & Replication gives us the option to do this easily. We are currently using the cloud backup as strictly a DR option as we have so many failovers on-premesis.
- Virtualized workloads
- In addition to back up, we also replicate some of these workloads
- Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
- Application-centric recovery using Veeam Explorers (for Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc)
- “Instant” recovery or portability between platforms (physical > virtual > cloud-hosted)
- Instant recovery option
- Quickly add and remove VMs
- Connects to failover infrastructure
- It doesn't handle running more than 4 tasks at once
- It is a slow application to use and log into
- When removing a portable hard drive used for a restore the terminology is a bit confusing

- It gives us the security that we can have business continuity if something fails
- It is hard to quantify the ROI but I am sure it is reasonable
I was not here before we moved to Veeam Backup & Replication so I cannot really comment
We have used the cloud for DR for the last 2 years and thankfully have never had to use it but it is reassuring that it is there
No, we have not used that function
