Overall Satisfaction with Vertex
The company uses O Series for rates and rules for stores and .com.
Pros
- Monthly updates are very clear and precise.
- Vertex O series is user friendly.
Cons
- Support, Support, Support - Many times I call in and it is obvious that I have more knowledge about the product than the support person on the other end. That should never happen. They should go through rigorous training before they are ever put on phone support.
- I would like to see a better user manual showing all scenarios.
- Well I can say that my audit assessments appear to be going up since going on Vertex. I am not sure of the direct cause yet other than 1) tax exempt or non-taxable items are able to be shown more readily and auditors know it.
- Also, I believe IT needs more rigorous training on the architecture, because we have many issues with our infrastructure and slow timeouts, etc.

Vendor reputation was definitely the most important factor. I heard from many different retailers that Vertex was the best.
Much more reputable and knowledgeable in the industry.
Our Vertex 8.0 Implementation. Tatyana Martinez was absolutely the greatest. She was always available and always ready to help. I had a great relationship with her and she is very relatable. Also, Matthew was a great help as well. He was also on our first implementation and is great to work with as well.
