Vertex Indirect Tax O Series
Overall Satisfaction with Vertex
Vertex O Series is used primarily by our US division and we plan to implement into global ERP in the next year or so. The tax department are the main users, but we cooperate with the IT department....even if they don't cooperate with us!
Pros
- Straightforward setup of drivers and mapping
- Simple layout
- Great learning platforms
Cons
- Simple layout/format is often times too simple. I find it to be very buggy.
- Allow for single instance (one window) and multiple tabs being open at once. Jumping back and forth between screens and having to throw out prior work is not helpful.
- More industry specific mapping catagories
- Positive impact is the time savings it creates for the tax department. As long as procurement follows their guidelines we should effectively reduce errors.

Vertex is the go to suite for S&U and relating tax calculation software - Our department made the decision to go with the company with the most customers because that usually means better support - we agree.
We had several users leave the company and one employee who had been out of the office, but was a super user. We needed to make changes and the support staff acted swiftly and explained the issues we were seeing. Although we weren't able to solve the issue in that first call - the representatives at Vertex made sure it was fulfilled before closing the ticket.
