Vertex O Series is used as the tax calculation engine for all business units in the US except for food and agriculture in our Dean Moines office.
- Robust calculation engine for leasing.
- Easy user interface for configurations.
- Ability to build user-defined rules and tax assist rules.
- Make it easier to write tax assist rules, maybe add some examples directly within the screens or on the fields being selected.

I was not here when the decision was made to purchase Vertex O Series, but I believe a big factor was the robustness of the leasing solution.
- Integration with other systems for easier analytics and reconciliations.
- Strengthen the relationships between Tax, IT and the business.
Exceptional support does not need to be tied to a big issue, but the everyday responses to our needs. We have had complicated situations where large set of transactions were taxed incorrectly and we had to use the TAM and the support team to help us solution the plan for remediation. There were other situations where we needed assistance from VC. All have been positive experiences.
