Overall Satisfaction with Viewpoint Spectrum

We are using Spectrum for job set-ups, job costing, accounting, equipment maintenance, inventory management, and payroll. It allows our organization's data to flow to the appropriate modules so our information is accurate.
  • Invoice Approval process - managers do not have to rely on paper copies for approval; approvals can be handled electronically.
  • Job Costing - Data from Accounts Payable, Equipment Revenue and Inventory transactions flow into job costs.
  • Customer Help - Reps are helpful and knowledgeable, but it's not unusual to have to leave a message or remain on hold for a period of time in order to get assistance. While there is the opportunity to leave a message, if you are trying to resolve an issue, it can tie up one or more employee's time while waiting.
  • Allows management to review cost and revenue at multiple levels of information. You can build your own reports via Crystal Reports.
Support reps are awesome! When we originally went on Spectrum (16 years ago) we could always count on getting a live person very quickly. Now, it's not uncommon to have to leave a message for someone to return the call. To be fair, you can also send an email to support or submit an incident but if you are needing an answer, you still have to wait. Another option available is the Chat which has been a definite improvement.
We use Heavy Bid and Heavy Job (HCSS products) and the results have been very successful.
Spectrum allows for an interface between multiple companies in some modules; however, there are other modules that information cannot flow between the companies.
