Overall Satisfaction with Viewpoint Vista

We use Vista by Viewpoint in our accounting department - Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cash Management, General Ledger, Payroll, Human Resources, as well as Equipment Management, Inventory, Job Cost, Material Sales, Project Management, and Purchase Order. We have found Vista by Viewpoint to be user-friendly and very versatile with the ability to create user defined fields.
  • User defined fields can be created in all modules.
  • The ability to sort and filter when viewing grids of information.
  • The import feature made converting our existing information very easy.
  • The Clearview website is available to answer many questions and for training as well.
  • The suggestion box is awesome if you have ideas for improvements.
  • It would be nice to have a simple export to Excel.
  • We would like to see an app available for individual remote time card entry on a phone. Vista is working on one but we have not found it usable yet.
  • Processes have been quicker and it is easier to modify or change accounting entries than what we had previously.
Vista’s HR Management, Field Management, and Financial Controls integrate well with the Vista accounting software. Integration with the field will become more streamlined in the near future and it’s exciting to think of the future opportunities.
Accounts Payable invoices are scanned in and the approver is notified to review and approve. This has drastically improved/eliminated the manual paper shuffling. We are utilizing timecard entry and approval for 60 of our 170 employees and hope to improve on this. We have moved our onboarding process to HR management and this has streamlined this process as well. Additionally, we will be automating our benefits sign up.

Vista by Viewpoint is very user-friendly, versatile, and powerful. However, reporting is a challenge as you need to know Crystal Reports in order to make any changes to reports. You can export reports to Excel but it is not a 'clean' export and tweaking is necessary. Finding someone that knows Crystal Reports is key.

Excellent training! They keep you on track to insure your implementation is going as planned. There are ample ways to receive additional training and training can be provided by position type. If you put on the effort, the training is there.

Configuring Vista

With the availability of user defined fields, the configurability in Vista very flexible. The reporting, however, is lacking in configurability.
Create user defined fields and tables when needed.

We recently switched to the Cloud version and this has improved this area.
Rarely have issues.
Some latency issues when we moved to the Cloud. Slow when using Spreadsheet Server.
