Overall Satisfaction with Volusion
Volusion is being used across the whole organization as our company website. The only way we accept orders is through our website. We utilize it for e-commerce as well as retail channels.
- Volusion is a company with a great sales force.
- NOT user-friendly. Reporting tools virtually non-existent. VERY manual—no shortcuts ever for editing things.
- HORRIBLE customer service. Will wait on "Priority" Tech Support call line for an hour to talk to anyone. Completely UNHELPFUL/NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE tech support. ZERO accountability/transparency. We can't even get a hold of our "Designated Account Rep."
- Ever changing coding issues. We'll fix a problem one day and it'll return the next for no rhyme or reason. Even their own "engineers" can't make changes to hard-coded pages—it's ridiculous.
- The end result of having our website on Volusion has negatively impacted ROI dramatically. It's a constant time and money suck. And it has turned away countless potential conversions due to its issues/lack of transparency.
We selected Volusion originally because of the price point, but we had NO IDEA how much we would be spending in excess to actually get the functionality that was sold to us by their salesmen and women. We are switching to BigCommerce this spring.

Evaluating Volusion and Competitors
Yes - We had a completely custom site before Volsuion. We wanted to change aesthetics and got an insane quote to do so. We then found Volusion and thought it would be a great, cheaper alternative. Ended up spending more in the long run than the custom site overhaul would have been.

Yes - We pay than most Volusion customers per month due to the fact that they've had to virtually create a new level for us because of band width usage. You would think that with that hearty check every month you could actually get some customer service and support. False.
When they were trying to get us to sign up we had more contact with someone from the company than we have in the 3 years since signing up.
