Overall Satisfaction with Vonage Business Cloud

We have Vonage Business Cloud deployed in two of our offices, for remote users, and are looking to add it to our HQ soon. We found our old provider very constricting in what they allowed us to do. We also used Vonage to replace on-prem systems. Moving to Vonage has allowed us to support our remote user base a lot easier than anything else we have used in the past.
  • Easy interface - both on user and admin side.
  • Flexible and easily expandable.
  • Reliable.
  • Relies on internet connectivity (no separate trunk like an on-prem system).
  • Phones can be on the expensive side if you purchase through the Vonage store, especially conference phones. Thankfully Vonage is so flexible and is compatible with phones purchased from other places.
  • Less time troubleshooting softphones.
  • Saved roughly $5000/year compared to our older phone systems.
  • Expanded our softphone user base.
  • Saved on international phone call charges and reimbursing users.
We were on a ridiculous combination of a bunch of vendors, Broadview/Windstream/ATT/Verizon/Paetec in one of our offices. It was an old-school setup, paying for long distance, a circuit to another circuit, maintenance on our local phone service and even had an on-premise voicemail server. Vonage gets rid of all of that, one bill, no local hardware except for the phones themselves.

We also use Optimum Lightpath Voice which is not listed above. We've found it very good for a local office with provided phones, but expanding beyond that, it falls apart pretty quickly. They're restrictive in what you can do. We had a nonfunctional conference room due to their restrictions. We converted that over to Vonage Business Cloud and got it working within 20 minutes.

RingCentral seemed to have a strong product. We ran through some demos but found Vonage Business Cloud to be as good as, and at a lower price. I can see RingCentral being a little better from an admin perspective as their portal was impressive, but it'd be impossible to have an easier user experience than Vonage.
They walk you through everything during setup. From the day we signed up to 30 days after deployment they call and check in frequently. They gave me step-by-step instructions when we deployed both offices. We had an hour call in the morning before both deployments. We were concerned when the phone numbers seemed not to port but they eased our concerns and within an hour everything was all up and running. We even had an issue on a Saturday on a weekend trip, they helped us troubleshoot an issue that wasn't even theirs. Top quality customer service.

Vonage Business Cloud is extremely strong when it comes to ease of use, as well as its flexibility. It's so easy to use I am confident in just sending a user the account setup email and letting them set it up, and 90% of the time, they get it all set up within minutes. There are tons of add-ons as well that add value to the system. We had a request for our sales team to add the ability to listen into phone calls and within minutes we had a solution deployed, including a required legal warning.
