Overall Satisfaction with WebDAM

My company uses WebDAM internally and we also administer portals on behalf of our clients. It's used for asset management and also for template creation and management for end users. We have over 9000 users currently and see demand for use increasing with other clients. It allows for templates and assets that are approved and meet brand standards to be accessed, updated and downloaded without intervention of staff. I wouldn't even know how to estimate the time and effort savings of this valuable tool.
  • Allows for management of assets, including versions, archiving and expiration. We have a large volume of assets and this helps us and the clients ensure brand standards are enforced with minimal need for approvals and additional interactions.
  • Gives us the ability to create and deploy templates for our clients and their end users that they can easily adapt and use to promote their business. This gives end users more options to create marketing materials that look professional and again meet brand standards without having to have a designer on staff or create as one offs.
  • WebDAM allows us to save all assets for our large number of clients in one space for easy access to history and licensing information. This is invaluable! it also means we can access assets to reuse without having to purchase resulting in cost savings.
  • WebDAM allows us to create different user groups with access and permissions to limit use as needed. This means custom items can be limited as needed but still accessible to those who are "allowed"
  • WebDAM's reporting could be more robust. The reports they do have are limited or challenging to create. We have suggested a
  • "Most used" assets option, which is on their road map, but it would be great to help us know what does and doesn't work. If you need a more custom report it can be created but there may be an additional cost
  • Because we work with multiple clients we have more than one portal. Unfortunately there are some options, like the licensing disclaimed, that have to applied across all portals and cannot be customized at this time.
  • We have seen improvement in support since the merger with Bynder, but we still find getting answers to questions to be challenging, depending on who your support is assigned to.
  • Eliminate redundancies in storage of assets
  • Significant reduction in staff time to create assets
  • Significant reduction in staff time to find and send assets to end users
  • Ability to research licensing and eliminate costs and redundancies, as well as ensure correct use
We have evaluated Sharepoint and Widen. WebDAM is more robust than Sharepoint. We did not select Widen due to WebDAM having a more robust templating option.
We find the platform to be very usable overall for asset management, and creation of templates that can also be managed for end users decreasing the need for additional design staff to create one off marketing materials. We find it to be valuable as the one source of truth for approved assets and for tracking use and licensing information. Users need to remember it's an image based system. It can be challenging to explain that it's not "storage" for all back up and is challenging for non image based assets (Excel or Word document). The system is only as good as your maintenance of it - images that are not tagged will never be found. We find it valuable to have an assigned manager for the system who can ensure hygiene happens and can troubleshoot issues.
