Overall Satisfaction with Bynder Brand Portal

We used WebDAM through our organization to share sales and marketing documents with not only our internal teams but also with clients and prospects. It allowed us the ability to see thumbnails, search, catalog and share files among colleagues and outside the organization with vendors, clients and prospects.

  • No ability to report on or track assets being downloaded, sent, etc
  • Hard to find assets unless you knew which folder they were in
  • Expensive for what you get
  • Sales quit using it because it was hard to find anything.
  • Marketing fell short because we couldn't measure which assets were being used and working for sales and which weren't.
  • We figured out we could use our SharePoint DAM and save the money we were paying on WebDAM for better functionality.
We originally selected WebDAM because we couldn't get thumbnails or search on keywords in Sharepoint but with the new O365, Microsoft added these features and more to the DAM on SharePoint so we actually switched about 5 months ago. WebDAM lacks in reporting and analytics as well which is why we had to look for a better solution.

WebDAM is good if you don't have thousands of assets to save and search and just want a document repository that is a fancy file server.

However, for companies like ours where we have tens of thousands of assets and want to be able to see where those assets are being shared and what assets are being searched for and figure out a way to make it easier for sales to find these assets we needed more.

Bynder Brand Portal Support

When we were getting ready to switch vendors, WebDAM wasn't very responsive to my questions or my needs. They also sent me all the files on an external drive that was formatted for Mac and didn't even think to verify whether I had a PC (which I did) so the external drive was useless and I had to wait another week to get the updated external drive that was formatted for a PC that I could then use.
