Overall Satisfaction with Webex Webinars

WebEx Even Center is currently being used across our entire organization and is part of our Cisco Unified Communications effort. WebEx Event Center addresses our need for an online meeting platform as we are a global company with offices in several companies. WebEx is also integrated with our Jabber chat client for on-demand meetings and our LMS for virtual training.
  • WebEx Event Center is tightly integrated with Outlook, Cisco Jabber chat client, and our LMS for seamless event creation and management.
  • WebEx Event Center allow the user to easily control the options for each event for a quality presentation and interaction with the audience.
  • WebEx Event Center supports several audio options including VOIP and allows us to record meetings.
  • WebEx Event Center recordings are stored in a proprietary file format that is not easily converted to modern video formats. Storage limits are costly.
  • WebEx Event Center requires a browser plugin to launch events, which can difficult when using a corporate managed device.
  • The WebEx Event Center portal could be more intuitive to navigate and use.
  • WebEx Event Center has allowed us to lower training costs by offering additional online options that can be managed through our LMS.
  • WebEx Event Center has helped to lower travel costs for global meetings.
  • WebEx Event Center has provided a platform for easy collaboration among our various business units.
In my opinion, WebEx Event Center is one of the more reliable and accessible tools in its space. Video and audio streams are solid and it offers many of the features that a company would ask for from a tool like this. I will say that Event Center could learn from products like Join.me when it comes to meeting recording and downloading.

Do you think Webex Webinars delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Webex Webinars's feature set?

Yes

Did Webex Webinars live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Webex Webinars go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Webex Webinars again?

Yes

WebEx Event center is well suited for most online events/webinars. It is accessible by the majority of our target audiences and provides the features we need to host any type of event (corporate, on-demand, training). WebEx Event Center is less appropriate if your main goal is to have a recorded version that can be posted easily to other platforms as a video. This is most commonly experienced with using WebEx Event Center for online training.

Cisco Hybrid Work

  • Working from anywhere (e.g., coffee shop, airport)
  • Working from home
Our company is currently following a hybrid work model that is managed by individual teams/supervisors. There has been several models that we have tested and this has worked best for our employee base. Cisco WebEx allows us to stay connected during hybrid work with chat/spaces and meetings. We have also conducted several training sessions over WebEx in the last couple years. The platform has improved over time and become a more competitive solution.
Finding a model that worked for everyone and making sure everyone had the resources they needed to effectively do their job remotely. There were also challenges that we faced with certain groups using the technology off-site. We held several training sessions to assist with the transition and bring people up to speed.
Cisco's hybrid work solutions have really kept everyone connected. Not that everyone is completely happy with meeting remotely, but it still allows meetings, training sessions, and other work to be completed on time. Chat groups allow for collaboration over time on projects. Webinars allow for training and meetings. The improvement to recording meetings and integrating apps have only expanded our use of the platform.
I personally feel a better work/life balance with the hybrid model. At home, I have a more flexible, yet focused space to complete my work. The office is still there and allows for the human interaction that we often crave after time apart. Each employee's experience is different and personal to their situation and style of work. The hybrid model allows for everyone to find their own flow and pattern to work.
I was not part of the decision to choose Cisco and we were using it prior to our switch to hybrid. I was not happy with the choice to go with Cisco at first. I felt WebEx was lagging behind the competition... especially products like Zoom, Slack, Discord. However, recent updates have made huge strides in the right direction and I feel that it is a competitive product now. Recording files have switch to mp4 for better compatibility. The chat app is now more like Slack in functionality. And easy integration of third party services has expanded usability during meetings.

Using Webex Webinars

50 - Webex Webinars (formerly Events) is used by a smaller audience in our company. Primarily our training and communications departments, due to the nature of the product. While all employees engage with Webex Meetings, Webinars is reserved for special or larger events that require unique features that aren't used on a daily basis.
10 - This is a mix of I.T. support that is trained on a technical level and functional support that is trained for the usage and lower level troubleshooting of the product. The product runs with very few issues, so little technical support is required on a daily basis. The primary support is need when new users what to leverage the functionality of a Webinar.
  • Corporate quarterly townhall style updates.
  • New product launches with feature training.
  • Manager training.
  • Extend our reach with global engagement.
  • Break-out larger groups for smaller discussions.
  • Manage multiple presenters from a central location.
  • Product training for distribution.
  • Remote company-wide conferences.
  • Research forums for training development.
Webinars is a solid offering that has provided a stable platform for our virtual webinar needs. It is part of a larger offering that increases the value for our organization and keeps us coming back. The integration with our platforms allows for further reach and utilization.
