Overall Satisfaction with Webexpenses

Our church has several campuses and many people on each campus making purchases. Webexpenses allows each department and campus to track their expenses and assign them to the correct budget category. It is fairly intuitive to use, I was able to start using it after asking a colleague a couple of questions, but without watching any tutorials. I had some trouble splitting a charge once, but overall its functionality is impressive. I like that there is also an app for my phone, which allows me to quickly snap photos of receipts and upload them.

  • Webexpenses tracks all my purchases, so I don't have to keep track.
  • I receive notifications about each purchases to remind me to log them.
  • Allows me to keep track of how much I have left in my different budget categories.
There are so many columns that I need to scroll left and right on my computer screen, which is a little cumbersome. If there is a way to remove some of those columns or customize the view, it is not easily apparent. This doesn't make it less usable really, just less convenient.
It is very easy, I make purchases, receive a notification that a purchase has been posted, then write a quick description of what the purchase was and what it was for, choose the budget category, and verify the charges with the credit card statement. I submit my claim to the finance department, and that's it!
I needed an easy way to submit expenses and assign them to budget categories, and Webexpenses does that. I did not purchase Webexpenses, it was already in use when I joined the organization, but it does what I need it to do and doesn't take much time to use.

I have been using Webexpenses for about a month to track credit card purchases. It is perfect for that application. I am not sure which purchasing scenarios where it would not be appropriate, but for my use, it works great. Perhaps in a smaller organization or if there were not many purchasing categories, Webexpenses may be more than you need.
