Overall Satisfaction with Windows Server

We are currently using Windows Server on multiple machines to manage our active directory and other services as well as for hosting some virtual machines for specific tasks to aid in the performance and reporting for our customer service team to improve the experience that our customers receive upon each phone call.
  • Windows Server is very stable and reliable.
  • Windows Server has a wide range of functions that can be completed on the system.
  • Windows Server can handle our workloads.
  • It is not always easy to understand how to set up different services within Windows Server.
  • I would like to see Windows Server integrate with Microsoft Power Automate natively.
  • I would like to see less system resources being used by Windows Server.
  • Easy management of services.
  • Easy integration into our Active Directory.
  • Support for all of our current software needs.
  • Windows Server has helped us host some of our systems on a single machine reducing the costs of licenses.
  • Windows Server has allowed us to have a good visual interface for hosting virtual machines via Hyper-V.
  • Windows Server has allowed us to manage our catalogs in a manner that was not easily allowed on Windows 10 or even Linux easily.
I have used/administered several servers using systems like Ubuntu, Debian, and CentOS. While these systems are great in their own rights, you are typically using a command-line interface or shell in order to administrate the system. This requires a lot of commands to be remembered and is not always the easiest. Windows Server on the other hand has the option for using the Windows UI to be able to administrate the system with a familiar interface. Windows Server is far easier to administrate than the Linux distributions.

Do you think Windows Server delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Windows Server's feature set?

Yes

Did Windows Server live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Windows Server go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Windows Server again?

Yes

If you want a reliable system with a Windows interface, then Windows Server is your best choice. If you want a server system that can run on very minimal hardware, then Linux would be the better choice. However, Windows Server is far superior to Linux in the vast amount of software that can be installed and ran as well as is supported natively.
