Overall Satisfaction with Wolfram Mathematica

Wolfram Mathematica is being used by students and faculty at Virginia Tech. Engineering, Math, and Stat students use it occasionally. It mostly helps students solve some numerical problems very quickly and to get a hunch of the overall solution (if available).
  • Computation of integrals and sums in "closed form" (if possible) very quickly, much better than MATLAB
  • For an engineer, it can act as a very good complement to MATLAB.
  • It's very user-friendly.
  • I do not see any negative points about Wolfram Mathematica so far! Maybe just improve the readability of the "help" environment, something similar to the strong "help" of MATLAB.
  • It saved me time by telling me that some given complex integrals do not have a closed-form solution.
They are quite responsive, but I think a better help document would be great.

Do you think Wolfram Mathematica delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Wolfram Mathematica's feature set?

Yes

Did Wolfram Mathematica live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Wolfram Mathematica go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Wolfram Mathematica again?

Yes

Wolfram Mathematica is excellent for closed-form solutions of integrals.
It has some room for improvement in numerical analysis.
