Overall Satisfaction with WordPress VIP

VIP had been our WordPress hosting partner for almost four years now. We love having a partner like VIP to relieve our small team of the maintenance, scaling, and server management duties. We are not in the business of web hosting and we can focus on building out great features and capabilities for our members.

The support team almost always has the answer. They were a big help during a recent launch, ensuring that everything could go smoothly. Email-only support can be difficult. It can take a few responses to get all parties to understand the issue.
We've never had to worry about speed or uptime for our site. The site has been able to handle all the traffic we can throw at it.
While managed hosting gets rid of some headaches, it comes with some compromise. You're forced to do things "The WordPress Way" which can be frustrating at times. Sometimes having access to the database and file systems makes life easier, but I understand why that can't be allowed.

For our usage, I would say they are all about the same. The support offered by VIP put it over the top.
If you have a small development team and you depend on the web for your business, you have to have a trusted managed host for your site. No more late-night messages that your site is down so you can sleep soundly.
