Overall Satisfaction with Workday Human Capital Management
We used Workday for all employee reviews, compensation details, and bonus announcements in our organisation. It actually consolidated a lot of manual processes and outdated documents. It now was one stop to see the performance of an employee and their ratings by superiors, view compensation details as well as a repository of useful onboarding policies and procedures for communication from HR.
- Employee review formats and criteria are customisable and easy to understand
- Repository for policy and frameworks
- Seamless communication between HR and all employees for various announcements
- The updates to certain tabs for example compensation, did not automatically send a real time notification to employees. This makes crucial times such as annual appraisal announcements a bit of let down with employees constantly refreshing the portal as opposed to relying on an email notification.
- Although I'm not sure this was specific to my organisation but the rating scales were a bit too detailed and often had to make you fill things up over and over again.
- It largely depends on which modules your organisation chooses to integrate with the firm. In my organisation a lot of modules with regard to leave, recruitment etc., were not activated leading to a slightly incomplete integration.
- Our HR team was able to trim down its external vendors significantly once Workday was implemented.
- I personally saw as an employee the before and after of Workday so I know how relieved HR was that they did not have to get involved in processes that were prone to manual error such as release of compensation data at the same time to everyone via email.
I've only used BambooHR and used an internally developed software before and those did not have half the features of Workday. That's why we switched to Workday.
