Overall Satisfaction with Workday Professional Services Automation

Expansive online HR and payroll platform. Currently used to process payroll including salary changes and additional compensation, manage employee info, onboarding (completing new employee forms), generating employee/payroll related reports, time and absence tracking (clocking in and out, requesting time off, etc.), and tangentially used in relation to benefits and performance review.
  • Smooth hiring process
  • Easy to update employee salary/add additional comp info
  • Generates reports quickly
  • System has quirks when an employee is terminated then rehired within a short span of time
  • Sometimes system doesn’t delegate tasks to correct departments/person for approval
  • Time management/absence tracking system is not intuitive and can be confusing
  • Hiring/onboarding
  • Storing/updating employee data
  • Reporting
  • Time tracking
  • All in one platform great for businesses with locations across the country
  • We don’t use its learning/training features, or it doesn’t have, which would be nice
  • Reporting features are extensive and, though can be hard to figure out, there is clearly great capability there
Workday is quite different from ADP TotalSource. I think it is more extensive and can be tailored to individual company’s needs (more customizable, to an extent) whereas ADP TotalSource is better for a small company that wants more hands on help and extra services and benefits. Both are about equal in terms of how intuitive that are/ease of use.

Would you buy Workday Professional Services Automation again?

Yes

This is well suited for large companies, especially higher education. It’s also well suited if you plan on using its various add-ons for an extensive user platform. This system would be less appropriate if you’re a small company looking for just very basic features; wouldn’t be worth it.
