Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I reviewed Workplace by Facebook and tested it by using it on a small team. It ended up being slightly wonky in our workflow as some of the team were uneasy with sharing private information with Facebook because of all the things with that. I like the concept, but it just didn’t work well for my team.

Pros and Cons

A way to communicate with a team.
Commenting on visuals.
Private channels.

Privacy issues.
We weren’t ready to pay for the additional features of a brand new tool.

Return on Investment

No effect as of yet, as it’s not currently in use. It slowed us down momentarily.

Alternatives Considered

Slack

I didn’t! We like that Slack is free-standing and we moved over post the death of Hipchat, so it’s easier to stay there.
