Overall Satisfaction with Xactly Incent

We are just implementing Xactly for a single business unit, but based on the interest from the other business units, it will be rolled out to them as well in the next year or so. We are using this for commissioning and it is eliminating many manual steps the finance team currently has to do in order to get commissions paid.
  • The direct integration with SFDC is great. Ensures all the correct data is loaded into Xactly. But having the option to upload data as well for adjustments or one off scenarios.
  • The implementation team we worked with was great. At every step we knew what was expected of us and what the project plan was. Even when our PM left the company, the manager stepped in and we didn't miss a beat.
  • The ability for sales to be able to see their achievement in the system, broken down by each category is the comment I hear most from sales. Much easier to see the data than trying to find it in an excel spreadsheet.
  • The End User Training - you get 2 training's from Xactly which is great, especially for a company like ours that has sales people all across the globe. We were able to train the majority of them with the live training. For those that weren't able to attend, the recording is available for them.
  • If the compensation plans are fairly complex like ours are, you might need to have the Xactly development team put in extra time in the set up. This leads to extra cost.
  • Some fields can't be updated (i.e. the email address field). We were in the process of being acquired when we were going through implementation and had to scramble with the acquiring company to get the new email addresses as once they are in the system, you can't update it at the user level. You would have to inactivate that user record and create a new user record.
  • By saving time in the commission process, it has allowed the finance team to concentrate on other projects that were being neglected due to the manual processes that were previously used.
Xactly has the best integration with SFDC. We are completely immersed in SFDC, so this was very high on the list of needs. The User Interface was also a feature that tipped the scales in favor of Xactly. Although the other platforms we researched had certain components that might have worked a little better than the similar functionality in Xactly, you have to look at the overall product. And for the money, Xactly delivers in every way we needed.
If you are currently using a manual process of pulling data from your CRM and compiling commission in spreadsheets, this tool is for you. The setup takes some time, but once you have it dialed in, the time savings are big, allowing you time to work on other projects (i.e. forecasting, whatif scenarios for commissions and early planning for the upcoming year).
