Overall Satisfaction with Xactly Incent

Xactly Incent is being used across our organization by multiple departments within multiple business units. This includes our sales compensation administrators, sale team members, sales management, sales operations, and Finance. We use Incent for Sales Compensation administration, sales team member performance, President's Club rankings, comp analytics, and monthly accrual submissions.
  • Xactly provides a high level of transparency between sales compensation administrators, Sales Operations, sales reps, and sales management.
  • Managing multiple types of pay plans across multiple business units requires a sales comp solution that is highly flexible and customizable. No matter how unique a commission calculation is or how frequently the calculation is "tweaked", I feel that I have the right solution to make the needed changes on the fly to accommodate our business needs.
  • Xactly Incent has given us the right solution to accommodate our business as it has grown through development, acquisitions, and restructuring. Calculation accuracy and reporting through custom reporting allows our sales compensation team to be a valuable partner with our internal management, Sales Operations, and Finance/Accounting teams.
  • Due to fast growth and expansion, customer service can range from excellent to less than stellar. Some responses can be very helpful and timely. Some situations seem to drag on longer than they should. Recently, I have noticed a significant improvement in response time and resolution. They continually follow up with me to ensure that my open cases have been resolved before closing out the case.
  • The Incent analytics module (for advanced reporting) can be a blessing or a curse. It is very nice to have the functionality at my fingertips to manipulate reporting as needed without going back to Xactly for modification requests to saved reports. That being said, sometimes data points don't like to work with other data points and I have to come up with workarounds to get needed results.
  • The ability to include and exclude certain bonuses against guarantees/draws would helpful.
  • Xactly Incent has given us the ability to centralize our sales compensation administration across multiple business units. This has allowed our organization to reduce the number of resources that were dedicated to sales compensation and reallocate those resources to other business needs.
  • Centralizing our sales compensation allowed our organization to reduce the sources where the data resides. Previously, we had 5 - 10 people managing spreadsheets in multiple physical locations. Now, we've consolidated the majority of our sales compensation responsibilities to a few individuals.
  • Moving from spreadsheets to 1 online solution had reduced the amount of time it takes to pull together reporting across the entire organization.
Our company has a very strong collaboration between Sales, Finance, Sales Operations, and HR to measure sales performance. Without Incent, pulling the data together needed to complete our analysis would be a challenge. We currently have a business unit that is not on Incent and it is a struggle to know where needed data is and if we're working with current spreadsheets. We're currently looking to fix this challenge by migrating that team to Incent ASAP.
We are strongly considering other solutions offered by Xactly to work into our existing processes. We currently have some legacy solutions in place that would ultimately be replaced so this is not a decision and implementation that will occur overnight.
We use Xactly Connect to pull in data via FTP from AWS.
Sales Operations and Finance use the data from Incent to measure sales performance and measure pay plan performance. We are very involved with both departments to make sure a consistent message is being delivered. We use the data in Incent to flow back to AWS to be used with Anaplan and SFDC.
Our organization went through a SAP ERP migration. We had access to their sales compensation solution "for free." After getting one look at it, we refused to go any further. Granted, it was multiple year ago but the program was light years behind. If I remember correctly, the sales team wouldn't have had access to their data.

We also have a sister company who uses Oracle. They've asked us to look at their system but from what I've seen, it's not what we're looking for.

I manage multiple types of compensation plans including (but not limited to) straight goal attainment with commission rate tiers and plans with attainment to targeted pay calculations. The plan components are measured monthly, quarterly, quarter to date true-ups, and annually. Regardless of the component, I have the right tool to meet our business needs. We are also able to handle multiple exchange rate calculations to meet very unique needs.

Using Xactly Incent

1200 - Sales compensation administrators, Sales Operation Managers, sales team members, sales leaders, and executives.
10 - Full disclosure, we love Excel and we love spreadsheets. Incent doesn't eliminate spreadsheets and everyone on our team would be considered Advanced Excel users. That being said, Excel is a tool and not a solution. Administering comp out of Excel is not nearly productive, effective, and efficient as Incent.

Incent allows all of our Admins to engage with sales leadership and be an active partner instead of someone who is disconnected from the sales process and "behind the curtain".

  • I didn't know Sales Leadership could come up with so many different pay plan structures. Over the course of the last 8 years, we've discovered that Incent can handle every scenario I've witnessed.

If my organization were to leave Xactly, I'd strongly consider leaving my organization. The only other prospects I've ever considered are also Xactly customers.

Evaluating Xactly Incent and Competitors

Yes - Compel was sunset and we migrated to Incent. All migrations have their pain points but now I believe it's the best decision I've a part of.

Incent is adaptable for all of our sales pay plan calculation needs. We can make the system come up with any calculation needed to compute commissions.

Xactly Incent Support

They take the time to understand the system. They keep us updated on the status of our cases. Finally, their continued follow up ensuring the initial issue was resolved is very nice. They will not close the case out until they have confirmed that our issue has been completely resolved and fixed.

Yes - We like the white glove treatment.
Yes - Yes, bugs happen and they fixed it.
We had some instability on our comp admin team at the turn of 2019 into 2020. Pay plans did not get created for 2020. This we not caught until it was time to start calculating January 2020 commissions. Managed Services worked extremely close with our team to get us caught up and get our sales team paid.

Using Xactly Incent

I've migrated several business units to Xactly. I've trained several sales team on Incent. I've trained several new comp admins on Incent. Generally, everyone picks up on the system with a short learning curve. As noted previously, I can calculate any component with any calculation in Incent. It has increased our accuracy and improved our communication with our sales team.

  • Calculating batches and resetting them in a reasonable amount of time. Some systems take forever!
  • The Team Incentive Statement gives our sales reps a one stop shop.
  • Mobile App is a nice feature for our sales reps.
  • To add a new sales rep, it requires adding a new user, new person, possibly a new title, new position, and a change to the hierarchy. Lots of steps but they have released a new wizard that walks the Admin step by step to resolve this complexity.
Yes - It works well for Sales Reps. There is no access for Admins.
