Overall Satisfaction with Xero

We use Xero in our accounting practice. Many customers come to us frustrated with Intuit products and have no idea there is another and often better solution. All my clients enjoy Xero for UX, ease of use, and integrations with their other 3rd party applications. Xero also recognizes that accounting platforms need accountant expertise and advises customers when they sign up to find an advisor. Our practice operates 95% in Xero and we love it.

  • Their pricing has been fair and consistent even with their slight increase a year ago.
Xero has remained simple yet robust for years. They have a few items that make it difficult (what product doesn't), but I feel very confident in partnering with them. I have used (and still use) QuickBooks Online and I have witnessed Intuit continually pull the bait and switch on their customers and partners. Most people I have spoken to will say something like, "I absolutely hate QuickBooks, but I don't know of any other options." I then tell them about Xero and 95% of people that switch to Xero have told me "thank you."
It is a fairly robust platform, but it is NOT an ERP and it focuses on being a good General Ledger. The functions will take some getting used to, but when you are familiar with the platform it becomes very evident that there is the logic behind what was initially seen as madness.
We help manage some clients' subscriptions, but most of the clients keep their subscriptions. Overall, it has helped our workflow to help our clients, and therefore, it has helped.
For the items that it does integrate well with, it typically does well. But they rely on the other softwares to integrate with them, so it depends on the other softwares primarily.
