Overall Satisfaction with Yellowfin

Our company produces IT applications that are sold to health and social care organisations across the UK. Yellowfin is used as a BI user tool in conjunction with multiple Business Intelligence products. It provides very simple, easy to use and effective business intelligence tool with the aim of providing additional understanding on large scale healthcare data.

We ran a full procurement project to select Yellowfin and started with a long list of over 20 BI products. Key reasons for choice were ease of use, visual looks, product integrations and cost (both licence purchase and development of content).
Yellowfin works very well layered over an existing data warehouse and used to visualise data. We already had an extensive data warehouse solution which has grown over many years. It provides a cutting edge user interface to enable very easy access and use of the data. The view based metadata layer in particular is a big strength. Yellowfin only has CSV data imports so do not expect it to solve any traditional ETL issues.
