Overall Satisfaction with Ziflow

We are using Ziflow company-wide for creative approvals. The goal is to get the PDF proofs from our designers out of the inboxed siloes and into a public space where communication can be shared with everyone playing a part in the workflow. Too often email becomes a file storage system that can cause bottlenecks in the process of keeping track of where we are in a job.
  • The Ziflow API is stellar... very useful and easy to work with.
  • You can throw just about any kind of file type at it and it will work.
  • The ability to comment on a time-line for video proofing is very cool.
  • I would like to see the webhook trigger when a proof is reverted back to in progress.
  • That previous comment is very specific to my use, it may not matter to many people.
  • A more user-friendly way to traverse folders inside of folders might be helpful.
  • Workflow efficiency is the primary goal, and Ziflow moves the bar up a couple of notches.
  • Our internal job tracking system talks to Ziflow through the API and it's really cool.
  • Marking up proofs directly on the art improves the accuracy of our communication.
As with any digital system, you have to pair up your internal workflow nomenclature with the tools the system provides. Ziflow's ability to adapt to your environment makes it easier to come up with methods that match what users expect it to be.
Making it easier for people to get out of the cycle of email replies to replies to replies is our goal. Nothing can completely change human nature's instinct to stick to the old familiar tools, but the flexibility in Ziflow makes it easier to cater to those that want something simple to work with.

Other systems had job tracking features that never quite matched how we work. We opted to develop our own system and added Ziflow in as a major part of the review process.
To get the full functionality from Ziflow you need an enterprise account. It would be costly for a smaller company. If you don't need the ability to customize the API or unlimited storage, the pricing is in line with just about every other option out there. There are some SAS offerings that are way more expensive than Ziflow with the complexity and features most people don't need. Ziflow hits a sweet spot where the functionality is balanced with a fair cost.
