I have been in SEO for over a decade, and in that time, I have used just about every tool on the market. Conductor is the tool we get the most useful insights from in the easiest way. The support and help we get from the Conductor team are one of the main reasons we ignore the …
We moved to Conductor because the functionality matched what we were looking for. Price was not as much of a factor, thankfully, because Conductor is expensive.
We switched to Conductor from BrightEdge because the team at BrightEdge didn't seem very helpful during our weekly calls, and the platform was tough to use. The features were not laid out in a very logical or user-friendly fashion, and it was often difficult to accomplish even …
I've used BrightEdge, Ahrefs, Semrush, Siteimprove, and a few others I can't think of the name right now. We didn't move from one to the other, this was always the tool I have used with this company.
I have used a lot of search platforms I just add a quick selection of a few. Although Conductor has replaced most of the tools I have used in the past quite adequately (Conductor is on par with Majestic in most respects), I do occasionally use Ahrefs (mainly for backlink …
One of the largest pulls of Conductor seems to be the interface. Many of the other programs listed above (Semrush, Seach Metrics, STAT) have more developer-like, skeletal interfaces that may be difficult for SEOs to get into. For this reason I think Conductor is an ideal …
I still regularly use other SEO platforms along with Conductor, which each have their own unique advantage. I think in terms of overall SEO strategy and measurement of SEO health, Conductor does the best job at providing helpful reports and bringing multiple data sources …
I actually love the competition between BrightEdge and Conductor. Once one tool gets ahead in an area, the other will quickly improve and surpass. For us, the relationships that we've built up at Conductor made the difference. They'll bend over backwards to help us out. Moz is …
As with many vertical specific tools, all of those above have strengths in some areas, weaknesses in others. For us, we continue to use them for specific things, but the day to day monitoring and strategy planning comes from Conductor.
Please note that, while Screaming Frog is a great tool for scanning the website all it is, is a tool that scans the website. For deeper analysis or for keyword analysis, please take a look at tools like Semrush and Ahrefs for your medium size business, or Conductor for a …
Screaming Frog provides some similar benefits as the other tools but offers a wealth of other scanning options that the other tools don’t. I like how every scan of a URL (yours, a competitor’s, or any URL) provides 30+ points of data. The other tools offer other benefits that …
We have a deep crawl integration with another tool and still find the information on DeepCrawl valuable because this tool is better at listing out reccomendations. However, Screaming Frog is easier to use, doesn't have limits on how many crawls it can run (on the Pro plan we …
Screaming Frog is a desktop application that uses your own resources to crawl a site (Processing, RAM, Connection speed). Deep Crawl is a cloud-based crawler, and probably the best cloud based crawler out there. DeepCrawl can gather A LOT of data, but it becomes expensive. The …
Screaming Frog's combination of capabilities and pricing beats competitors. DeepCrawl & Moz beats out Screaming Frog when it comes to being able to access and store data since it is web-based and Screaming Frog data is stored locally. Otherwise, Screaming Frog is my go-to …
Conductor is irreplaceable for enterprise rank tracking across multiple regional sites. Conductor's blend of keyword and competitor tracking is perfect for keyword research in my industry. Conductor allows me to collect and report on our web content in any grouping and isolate it for performance.
Screaming Frog SEO Spider is well suited to auditing brand new websites, when you need a quick, holistic view of the websites technical issues. Its great for providing a top line view of a websites architecture, perhaps for a new business approach where you need to assess the scale of work to maintain a website. Its also a useful tool in situations where you might need to see whether a large scale change in the website has taken place, you can see word counts, pages and their https response codes. Screaming Frog may be less useful if you need an idea of the customer experience on a website, it doesn't really provide information that helps assess how fast a website loads, what issues might come up when trying to convert or faults with the payment process. Screaming Frog is largely a technical SEO focused tool, it also can't assess the quality of a websites, layout or the quality of the content used on the website. As mentioned, its niche, but very useful within that niche.
When I need to quickly determine what Google features our keywords are ranking for: Featured Snippets, Carousels, Rich Snippets, Sitelinks, PAA boxes, etc.
The ability to create highly customizable dashboards that provide a one-page view of insights for the specific web properties you are tracking.
A content guidance tool that is unmatched by any other product available in the market.
Backlink tracking/reporting (would like to see backlinks more easily and maybe backlink opportunities if possible)
Custom content briefs (right now I move the brief from the platform version into our own in-house Word doc template because it is more detailed. Would love to be able to customize the brief that is set up within Conductor so that we can do it all in one place.)
Requires Java. This isn't a huge deal as many computers already have it installed, but it's yet another 3rd party component.
The free version has a crawl limit of 500 pages per site. This is fine for smaller sites, but if you're running a big e-commerce site then you'll need to pay for Pro version.
The user interface isn't very pretty. This is an analytics tool so it doesn't really have to be, but it might be helpful for improving the overall user experience.
Conductor has the right amount of tools for our usage. The support is also really good so we get help when we need it. The tool is well priced for the amount of functionality you get. There is plenty more I could say here but I'll keep it short and sweet.
The tool has become integrated into our teams daily workings and I have yet to find a tool other than scremaing frog to replicate all of our use cases for it. It's a great tool and we're sticking with it
I check features like the InsightStream every Monday to monitor any major losses or gains in performance. These are easily digested and save me tons of time searching for these insights manually. If there's anything "worth calling home about" I can easily add insights into a workspace and create a report to communicate these results. It's super easy to use Conductor with a team and across departments.
Easy for me to use because I have using the product for a long time and understand the ins and outs of it. If I was a newbie, I would be completely lost. It does take some prior knowledge to operate this software and understanding of what a crawl means
It's been sort of off and on in the 2 years I've used it. The live chat has been really helpful many times, and they're quick to respond. We had different support contacts but they've all been good. I think they've recently changed the way they provide support that I believe will be more dedicated and hands-on
Screaming Frog is a relatively primitive system, and doesn't need to be supported by devs or other software. Screaming Frog does interface directly with some programs that are most needed (Google Analytics, Search Console, Page Speed Insights), so that's convenient. It isn't widely supported by other programs, but it also doesn't need to be.
Our in house SEO manager trained everyone. It was easy to learn and he was well versed with the product. Any questions we had he was able to answer or reach out to support to find the answer
I definitely recommend their professional services for getting started. It got our account 90% of the way to where we needed to be in order to gain value from it. In fact, I'd suggest that with few exceptions (such as, you have a staff that is already familiar with the platform and doesn't need any help), the quick start services over the first 30-90 days should be a standard part of onboarding with any new client. It definitely got us to the point of gaining ROI from the solution and, in turn, will make it easier to justify renewal and continued investment in it.
We have looked at a few other competitors or other SAAS options but none of them offered the number and quality of tools and resources that Conductor offered especially for the flexible pricing we found with Conductor
Screaming Frog SEO Spider is probably the best non-client facing SEO audit tool in terms of technical SEO. There are other tools on the market that do a more complete job of keyword tracking, competitive analysis, and backlink profiles...however, for analyzing the technical SEO health of any website, Screaming Frog is the best
Conductor helped us aim at low hanging fruits for quick wins, which increased our traffic
With Conductor's tool, it was easy to look at general keywords where we were already ranking, but not good enough, and then focus around what we could do to increase our positioning
All this extra traffic, gave us more leads, therefore more sales!
Increased employee efficiency - We spend many less hours tracking down and reporting simple meta tags.
Better Client Servicing - We are able to ensure we have a total look at a client's site before we recommend anything.
True Pricing Structure - We are able to more accurately predict how much help a client may need based on factors such as size of site, number of redirects, proper use of meta tags, etc.
