We use SAP SuccessFactors for core HR, Recruiting, Talent and Succession, PMGM and CMP VP. System is still to catch up with the new ways of working. It wasn't design with the end users at the core, so it is hard to win over employees and managers, as the system experience is not very intuitive. Even adding objectives is bad. Modules seem to have been developed without any central data governance, so certain fields in EC have no exact matches in RCM, for example, so additional configuration and maintenance is required. Recent few months has shown some promise but my organisation looked at AI two years ago and we searched for external vendors to help us with some processes. It's only now that SAP is starting to catch up.
  • Recent innovation approach looks promising.
  • data format alignment across all modules
  • significantly improve end user experience, simplification
  • two many SAP pages to find any information, especially difficult when close to a bi-annual release
  • things get deployed but sometime hard to find clarity on details, e.g. AI costing ad usage of credits
Well-suited: - Core HR - Permissions Less appropriate: - Still end users, e.g. managers and employees, example initiating a requisition from position org chart - mission impossible without a user guide, too many clicks, not flowing naturally, different icons and task triggers.

We use the full suite of SAP SuccessFactors modules at our organisation and use it to manage the lifecycle of employee data within the organisation. It is user friendly application and intuitive to use. SuccessFactors enhances the application with their half yearly release cycle and keep their software upto date with the latest trends in the market i.e. AI features and skills based organisation. We are currently exploring the use of colleague's skills to drive internal mobility across the organisation and train them as needed to bridge their skills gap and make them future ready for internal vacancies. This will not only help them to reach their aspired roles but also help the organisation attain cost savings by reducing the dependency on external sub-contractors. The modules are integrated well with lots of potential in the reporting area to help organisations make informed decisions about the future.
  • Integration of skills across Talent modules
  • Dashboard reporting capabilities
  • Keeping up to date with latest trends in the market
  • Improved Performance in Reporting
  • Ability to transfer files via SFTP using Report Stories
  • Improved Talent Search Functionality to identify Internal talent
On the plus side, SAP SuccessFactors has the full suite of modules that help any organisation manage their HR data using one product rather than having to integrate multiple systems. On the downside Performance can be challenging when querying large volumes of data.

We use SAP SuccessFactors for core Employee Central, performance and we just went live with Recruitment last month. The cloud technology means we can keep up to date with changes in technology easily.
  • performance and reward

  • employee lifecycle
  • be more flexible with customisations
  • too many areas that are enforced
well suited for our needs as a large global organisation

We use the EC, PMGM, Comp, CDSM modules. We have not utilised the full breath of SAP SuccessFactors' offerings, which is something we are currently reviewing. There are some limitation, particularly in our local regions in being able to capture all the data needed to process payroll i.e. some customisation is required to be legally compliant to integrate data from SAP SuccessFactors to downstream payroll platforms. Overrall the user experience is good with minimal issues technically and to the end-user.
  • easy access via app
  • user friendly system
  • can customise to suit individual business needs
  • struggle to reach out blue collar workers, without an email address to access the system
  • need local customisation provided as standard, especially when there are legal data points which are needed from our employees

Core HR processes and limited talent processes are supported by SAP SuccessFactors.
The scope is to support a large multinational organizations in managing HR processes.

  • Quick actions
  • Integration data model between REC and EC
  • Position management UI
  • International assignment /mobility not integrated on talent

Presently for core HR transactional activities (HR, Payroll, REC, ONB), but into the nest phase for LMS, Performance, Compensation. The second phase allows us to utilise the technology for our growing ambitions. SAP SuccessFactors addresses issues around interpolation for our data, but also provides a consistent, integrated data base that address wider benefits both up and downstream.
  • Ease of use - For the most part the software is intuitive
  • Extensibility - Ability to drive more functionality from connection modules and tools
  • Continuous development - Progress of development gives confidence to customers that the product will continue to remain relevant
  • Consistency - Parts of the system move forward at different speeds, so visual UI can be inconsistent
  • ECP - Needs to move to fully cloud based without need for native GUI access
  • Configure Business Rules - Needs to move to a modern drag and drop workflow builder style interface to build whole processes. Sharing rules with SMEs doesn’t give them the full appreciation of workflows/calculations/approvals/notifications steps
To my previous points, there are some areas where SAP SuccessFactors need to develop the solution for end user SuperAdmins. When we transcribe requirements and workbooks back to customers, who often think in terms of visual workflows, we suffer because of the way in which configure business rules work/are built. In addition, not everything is focused under business config/configure business rules and therefore Recruitment has its own specific config, as does ONB. Overall however, it’s a great SaaS and very obvious how much cotinuous development SAP are putting behind the suite of tools.

We use a wide range of SAP SuccessFactors modules, from core HR through to Payroll. We utilise the product for succession planning, performance and goals, recruitment - it also acts as the master copy of employee data across our business.
  • Core Data Model
  • Business Rules and Workflow
  • Recruiting Management
  • Guided forms to improve User Experience
SAP SuccessFactors caters for a huge number of scenarios and can be configured to cater for almost any HR process you can imagine, sometimes this can result in the path to implementation being complex.

We are a 100k WW employees Telco Company. Our HR master system is SF; practically, all the modules are active on the system. We use Employee Central, LMS, Recruiting, P&G, Compensation, Reporting, and HCP as examples. We dedicate time to managing several markets on all these specific topics, and at the moment, this is our global platform.
  • Employee master data management.
  • Performance Management.
  • Learning Management.
  • Goals
  • Recruitment
  • Employee Listening.
We have a very complex scenario, but the main processes are well-managed. Considering that we have around 50 corporate HR systems one of our main concerns is always the integration side.

I use SAP SuccessFactors as system admin for the modules PMGM COMP and EC. We use SF for all employee transactions, at the moment from change of address to yearly salaries reviews which the system help us to achieve, the system help us to automate HR data load and create an easy and powerful for our employees
  • Half year releases
  • Strong customer communications through our Exec support
  • Support through the expert chat
  • High priority tickets support
  • KBAs content and support
SAP SuccessFactors modules are integrated which makes the job easier for the users and us as systems administrators, also provides you a whole view of the process and with reports which are very useful. I really enjoyed customizing the performance cycle for our company and also saw the big improvement of doing the compensation cycle using SAP SuccessFactors (Annual Salary Review and Bonus payments through compensation worksheets.

Almost full suite, RCM & RMK, EC, Time Off, Learning, Performance, Talent, and ECP payroll limited scope.
  • Scope of the product.
  • Connections between modules - except Learning.
  • TIme Mgt.
  • Better options in RCM to support hybrid & remote working.
  • Better in-built reporting - not creating duplicate rows as much, more accessible to configure reporting.
  • Better options for deskless workers - those that do not have company devices.
Sometimes, feedback is not taken into account, and ways to manage changes are limited. Certain features we would expect to exist - mobile phone number data entry with country code validation, etc. - do not exist and are not on any roadmap. If you buy partner products through SF as a customer, you get stuck in the middle regarding support and queries.

We use SAP SuccessFactors within our organisation as our primary HR People system, incorporating people management, job architecture, staff profiles and some of the learning and development function. By having SAP we aim to ensure we have a single strategic portal for staff use, much needed for a large global organisation.
  • Staff profiles
  • Onboarding, including mandatory learning
  • Basic LMS package doesnt provide an engaging user experience
  • Metrics/analytics function in the LMS is difficult to navigate or provide all data required.
  • Skills assessment linking to recommended learning and project opportunities, although this is in development.
From SAP HR Connect forum I can clearly see how a number of advancements/applications available will greatly enhance the user and manager experience of SAP. Personally I would like to see our current learning app developed further, with something like WorkSpace and BLEND, to provide a more advanced and engaging LXP, aligned to roles and skills with better reporting/analytics.

We use EC as a core HR system plus some limited use of performance. Recruitment tool is being used, but there are frustrations with it. The system is used globally to record basic employee data with local Payroll systems - some of which are integrated into success factors. Key business drivers are around headcount control.
  • Helps with basic data capture and self service for end users.
  • The reporting tool is limited—we struggle to produce basic reports such as turnover reports. Some of this may be due to the way the system has been configured.
The storage of employee information is fine, and it’s easy to capture and input the information. It's Similarly easy to populate with bulk uploads following acquisitions. However, there is a lack of automation around the production of notifications and limitations in the information that can be included. The previous HR system was much more flexible in this area.

we have just rolled out to 2 out of 32 countries in emea, for core hr modules excluding comp. the business problems i see are due to design config rather than the product itself
  • time off management
  • history of data
  • ease of use
  • forward propagation overwrites the correct audit trail
  • position management often confusing for end user
  • onboarding module needs troubleshooting too often
good for position management and live audit trails, comp manager is very easy for wider business to streamline. the ease of workflows and delegations is also good.

onboarding module can be challenging, as well as some basic customization like defaulting the setting of toggle buttons which are not possible according to sap kba.

I currently use Sap HR and Success Factors within L'oreal. We use the onboarding, employee central, time management, comp, and ben modules. We are currently using SAP globally as a company; however, I am currently using this in the UK and Ireland specifically.
  • Has information in one place in employee central.
  • The workflow approval system is very good, so it is secure to ensure that incorrect data is picked up via the approval process.
  • The time management feature is very good, easy to navigate and works effectively.
  • The interface between Sap and other systems must be reviewed, as this does not always work.
  • The rehiring process in onboarding has a lot of technical issues which need to be reviewed.
  • The sync from position management and employee central does not always work, therefore requires manual intervention.
Overall, I think Success Factors is a good system to use, with good features. However, it does not always work well with other systems, i.e., the interface. Also, the history aspect of job information in EC is flawed and needs to be reviewed, as you cannot see the original people who made the changes, only the last change, which is not great for audit purposes.

Within our organization, we use SAP Success Factors as the core foundation for our HR Application, which includes various modules from the suite—EC, Recruitment, Onboarding 2.0, Learning, Talent, etc. SAP SF is the core foundation for HR Data and processes, along with its extension capability to improve colleague experience and simplify HR processes, enabling our colleagues to focus on their daily work and not get stuck in an HR process.
  • Bring together multiple HR processes and data points into one foundation platform.
  • Connects to the broader enterprise-wide SAP application to easily bring together HR, finance, and payroll, etc, into one data architecture
  • Provides a great UX for colleagues.
  • A more complete offering on careers sites to allow candidates to use CV and AI, etc, to find the best jobs for them and provide recruiters with open source info.
  • Broaden out Onboarding 2.0 to allow more intelligent offerings around equipment ordering and a better day-one experience for new joiners.
It is well suited to an organization looking to simplify the HR/enterprise architecture and combine everything into one data set. This will allow global reporting and data to be in one place and enable better insight, etc.

We are currently using SAP SuccessFactors's EC and ECP, we wanted to link our employee data across our EMEA regional employees. We went live in November 2023 and are live in the UK and Poland currently.
  • Keeps the majority of employee information all on the one screen.
  • Encourages self service.
  • Reduces some of the admin heavy tasks.
  • Links in with Finance systems.
  • Payroll module usability, feels slightly dated when digging into how things were calculated.
  • No additional pay run available in the UK, major issue for us
  • Quicker navigation on the employee screen

We use SAP SuccessFactors with a 7K Headcount. Used to master all core HR data EC, Recruiting, Onboarding, PMGM, WFA, Talent, Compensation available but not fully utilized and restricted by legacy business complexity and data issues. Now, I am trying to unpick some of the original implementations to standardize, simplify, and modernize.
  • Core platform intuitive
  • All capabilities you would expect to see in a HR application
  • Easy to configure changes
  • Customisation is simple using custom MDF and business rules
  • Could do with a modern UX
  • Mobile application not always stable
  • More capability across ER Case Management
I have used other systems (Oracle). SAP SuccessFactors is more stable. The online materials and resources are really useful and there's a huge network of users you can reach out to

SAP SuccessFactors is my primary HR Platform for employees in circa 30 countries. Modules include; EC, Performance & Goal Management, Succession, Compensation & Recruiting. Enables single source of data for all global entities. Employee & Manager self service for Time & Attendance, Personal Data, Goal Management and Performance Management. Enables integration with IT and Payroll Systems.
  • Goal Management
  • Performance Management
  • Employee Data Maintenance
  • Document Management
  • Consistent Reporting across ALL Modules
SAP SuccessFactors has good broad functionality. SAP SuccessFactors modules available cover most HR processes as well as the employee life cycle. System allows plenty of room for configuring based on global needs. Supports customisation. Allows management of Contingent Workers. More simplified release items and management.
