What is SupremeViewer?

SupremeViewer is a lightweight Remote Desktop Access software with a free option, that allows to connect and control a computer from a remote location. It is used for variety of purposes, including: screen sharing, file transfer, and remote desktop control.

The software consist of two parts: client (SupremeViewer Client) and server (SupremeViewer Server). The users install SupremeViewer Client software on their devices to connect to host computers where the SupremeViewer Server is installed. This allows them to work or manage files as if they were physically present at the remote location. Having separate client and server is more secure and useful for companies that prohibit installing software that allow inbound connections to the company infrastructure. If the local computer is used only to access remote hosts there is no need to allow access from the outside world.

Users can choose to install the software and allow unattended access to the remote computer or just run it in "one time use" mode, without installation and without administrative privileges. The setup is straightforward, and it is designed to be navigable for non-technical users.

SupremeViewer is a free for personal and small business use, without any session time limitations.
According to SupremeViewer, many remote access products claim that they are free, however there are hidden restrictions that are quite annoying. For example they drop the session after a certain period of time, they monitor the software overall usage and after a period of time they do not allow free usage at all. This sometimes happens unexpected and without a warning sign. SupremeViewer states their free option does not pose any restrictions during the entire period of usage.

Basically I am working from home. I am using SupremeViewer to connect to our customers and do cleanup and maintenance tasks such as: - Running Windows self diagnostic tools that checks the hardware. - Checks if Windows needs updates. - Running cleaner tools like CCleaner. - Running system file checker. All the staff could take couple of hours or the whole day. I am glad that I am able to do all these things remotely.

SupremeViewer is best for troubleshooting technical issues on remote computers. You can do connections all over the world without any configurations. Just run or install and connect. It is secured and works behind NAT. The easy installation process without additional configuration helps a lot when our customers need to run the server.

Alternatives Considered
At the beginning we used Windows Remote Desktop service. The main problem with Remote Desktop was that the remote computer needs a publicly visible IP address which will allow us to connect to that PC. For that reason we started using TeamViewer. TeamViewer works great behind NAT and with its free option was best solution for small company as ours. I think that now they are mainly targeting corporate customers and the price of their products is too high for us. This led us to look for other solutions. That's how we discovered SupremeViewer.

The general duties I have to perform in the company as a remote support engineer include training of colleagues how to work with the company software (installing/uninstalling), diagnosing technical problems, upgrading applications and checking workstation performance. As a good experience, I can describe a case where I had to transfer some large image (.img) files to a remote computer and SupremeViewer handled it without any problems. When the SupremeViewer Server is installed on the remote computer, the software is running as a service which allows us to log on, switch users, change the Windows password, and check the task manager (the Ctrl+Alt+Del is available at a single click). Also we are able to install and uninstall applications during our computer maintenance.
