Overall Satisfaction with Mailchimp
We used it for many years for casual newsletters once in a while. It works well and we like it. We also use it in conjuction with the Privy plugin pop-up for signups - this gets more clicks into MailChimp mailing lists. We also used it for many client sites and they got good results.
- Collect signups
- Create campaigns
- Manage lists
- Reports
- Pop-up can be better - we use Privy for that instead
- Easy way to cover all compliance in various countries
- Better plan options - between the current price plans
- Mailing list growth by a lot
- Newsletter campaigns generate leads for new projects
- Generating sales for some types of businesses
It's better for the average campaign requirements. Some projects require more advanced features and we use other tools for those. For example, making an system email that needs to be white-listed and then send system emails from it. For that we used Mailjet, sendgrid and other tools based on the project locations around the world.
We mostly used it for email marketing. But for some clients we also used it for drip campaigns and various API integrations as needed. Some projects were good for using the API integration for using the nice intuitive user interface while connecting to other tools. We had some experience using other tools like Bloomtools, Marketo, Zoho, Hubspot and others.
It's very helpful for growing a mailing list over time. We like that it automatically cleans the lists as people change their emails, detects bounced emails, can track unsubs and can see a summary of what happened. Comparing that to other marketing activities helps analyze the data and identify what marketing initiatives worked best and how to improve over time.
