Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I have several use cases for Miro. First and foremost, it is my whiteboard tool. Anytime I would have used a whiteboard in the office and need to do so remotely, I open up Miro. It's great for brainstorming, mind mapping, building charts, graphs, and process documentation, especially in the early phases when I'm not exactly sure what I need. I really like the stopwatch functionality built in and the talk tracks as well. It allows me to facilitate a meeting and stick to strict timings and/or build a board and asynchronously iterate on it by recording talk tracks.
  • Brainstorming and iteration
  • Process documentation
  • Meeting Facilitation
  • adding shapes to a process map that spans more than one swimlane (Miro automatically adjusts my swimlanes and I don't want that)
  • Improved collaboration and therefore quality
The Miro team was very collaborative and helpful; I loved that they used the tool to help us implement Miro! With Miro being so easy to use, I love that the implementation team was very flexible with us, assessed where we were with our understanding of the tool, and then adjusted the type of support they provided accordingly.
I love the integrations that Miro has, I just wish the integrations were more robust (to no fault of Miro's). Miros integration out has been phenomenal and super easy to use with almost complete functionality, but linking other products into Miro is often lackluster. It's nice that the tooling is there, but it lacks complete functionality in many cases (I'm thinking specifically Smartsheet right now) to be fully useful.
Miro has had a lot of positive impact on my ability to collaborate on new projects. Any time I'm trying to build something but I'm not exactly sure what that something is, Miro is my go to tool. I love how easy it is to use and not intimidating to other users and how flexible the complexity can be (ie, I can still build complex process documentation, but can also just throw a few sticky notes onto a board depending on the need).
I'm not a UX pro, but for my needs, Miro blew away the competition for two main reasons. First, Miro is so incredibly easy to get set up with and get running. It's not intimidating to use and it's easy for anyone on my team to just jump in and collaborate with me (even those adverse to technology). Secondly, it's easy to collaborate with others who don't have a license. A lot of other whiteboard tools require that even if I just want to share something with you (even without editing rights), you must have a license to even view. It's super challening when I have high stakes stakeholders I want to share something I build in a whiteboard app but I know it's going to be clunky for them to have to log in/sign up.
